Open Communication with Typer

@tiangolo I know typer is a downstream user of Click, I am interested in having open communication with down stream projects. I saw that you recently vendored Click, and I assume you did not do it lightly. I don't know what is useful to you. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help. I also talked with Savannah at Pycon, but she does not seem to be @ able.

A side note, when we did the vendoring I made a one time sponsorship to the org as a thank you for all the support these years (I hadn't mentioned this anywhere 😅 ). 🙌

One of the things that I want to achieve but didn't mention there in the docs article is support for Pydantic in Typer, and make it the default parsing, validation, and data documentation library (this is almost done, by Sofie, waiting for my review). I didn't want to mention it in other places as then people would start spamming, but I can probably let you know here.

With this and other planned features, the codebases will start diverging more and more, and we expect we'll end up reducing the vendored code part by part as we migrate things and probably end up replacing all the currently vendored code. At the same time, some other features and behaviors in Click are things that don't necessarily match the goals in Typer, which makes keeping compatibiltiy with them harder, while also making it harder for you to keep compatibility with things we have in Typer.

But anyway, thanks a lot for the support these years (starting with some interactions with David Lord a long while algo). 🙌

Wow, thank you for your donation, it's extremely generous. My notifications are also a mess and I totally missed it. I still keep meaning to meet you and the other FastAPI people at PyCon to chat about all our frameworks. Maybe next year, or when I finally make it to a conf in Europe some day.

Honestly, I'm glad you all found a way to move Typer forward. Building a framework on top of a framework isn't an easy task, I don't think Click ever anticipated that level of integration. We still have our own plans and design goals, so hopefully we inspire each other without the potential compatibility issues.
