Since it is impossible to run something like pnpm i or npm i or echo hello on azure, this is significantly more than a nice-to-have.
It would be best if the install command itself could be configured.
Just like azd up is configured by azure.yaml, there shouldn't be a design restriction to put that there, no?

This is blocking me in my case btw :)

This has been resolved with #6894, which adds support for configurable package managers including pnpm.
