An Object Relational Mapping (ORM) can help you abstract raw SQL away from the code so that services can work in a unified language. They also help protect from common vulnerabilities like injection attacks.

• Investigate an ORM like sequelize/bookshelf/waterline/etc
  • Create a branch for each implementation. These branches should be persistent, and can be referenced later for a tutorial. I would suggest naming them like sample-sequelize and sample-knex
  • Document the decision in an architectural decision record (ADR)
• Investigate a query-builder like knex
