Event Definitions - Event Summary Template field should be labeled Optional #27549
Event Summary Template is an optional fields users can configure when building Event Definitions. However, it is not marked as optional - this may be confusing since the Description field below is marked optional:
Graylog should add the "(Optional)" text here to avoid confusion
Why?
Users may incorrectly infer that the Event Summary Template field is required, when it is not. It would also help to consistently label and identify required vs. optional fields in the wizard.
I’ve reviewed the request and the current UI shown in the issue. I can update the Event Definition form so that optional fields are explicitly marked as “(Optional)” and required fields follow the Graylog design convention of using an asterisk.
I can also add/update the relevant tests to make sure the form consistently communicates required vs. optional fields.
Could you assign this issue to me? I’d be happy to submit a PR.

Ideally we update the form to reflect our from design conventions. https://graylog2.github.io/design-system/?path=/docs/patterns-forms--docs
The idea is that we mark all required fields with an asterisk.
