[high, unverified] Unsaved YAML edits are lost when switching tabs #512

Open

Description

@Interstellar-code

Unverified: the bug-hunt's skeptic check did not reach a verdict on this finding. Verify it before fixing.

Location: src/screens/workflows/workflow-editor.tsx:1063

Severity: high · Confidence: high

When

A user edits the YAML without saving, switches to another tab such as Overview or History, then returns to the YAML tab.

Effect

The unsaved text the user typed is silently gone and the YAML tab shows the last saved version again.

Evidence

Line 1063: const [buffer, setBuffer] = useState<string>(def.yaml) lives inside YamlTab. Lines 1558-1562: {activeTab === 'YAML' && (<YamlTab def={def} parsed={parsed} onRefetch={() => void refetch()} />)} unmounts YamlTab whenever another tab is selected, so the buffer state is destroyed. Nothing persists the buffer elsewhere.

Skeptic note

no usable skeptic answer
