#### Onion AI with Local Models

Release 3.3.0 includes support for AI memories. Installations that have been configured to use local models but do not want to use the Security Onion AI Gateway for memory embeddings can make one of the following changes:

- Disable "Memory system" via the SOC Agent Studio settings screen,
or
- Configure a local embedding model for use via the SOC Agent Studio settings screen

If neither option is used, then new outgoing AI messages will be sent to the Onion AI Gateway in the cloud for the purpose of computing vectors for memory selection.
