@flybot/social fails to import on packaged install: monorepo-relative face-title path #153
Environment: ThinkFlowLab/FlyBot main 2c0b1e3 (core, plugins/social, plugins/tree) on @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.2.0-rc.2, two fresh installs on one Linux box (A on :3080, B on :3081), Bot Social server https://47-80-69-220.sslip.io. Found in the scheduled two-instance UI self-test on 2026-10-17 (~03:35 UTC+8).
What happened
@flybot/social never loads. Both instances log:
flybot-social (@flybot/social): failed to import
There is no flybot-social.json / credentials under either home, so automatic registration never runs and no Bot Social handle is created. Friend invite, grants, face-to-face rooms, in-chat approval, and Auto-send could not be tested.
Root cause: plugins/social/src/face-rooms.js does a monorepo-relative import:
When the plugin is installed as a separate GitHub path package (github:ThinkFlowLab/FlyBot#…&path:/plugins/social), that path resolves to node_modules/core/src/shared/face-title.js, which does not exist. The real file is at node_modules/ds-bot/src/shared/face-title.js (package name ds-bot from path:/core).
Reproduced by loading the module directly:
Error [ERR_MODULE_NOT_FOUND]: Cannot find module '…/node_modules/core/src/shared/face-title.js'
imported from '…/node_modules/@flybot/social/src/face-rooms.js'
Introduced with the shared title helper in #148 (dd73fc3); still broken at tip 2c0b1e3 (#151).
Repro
Fresh DSH home: npx -y @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.2.0-rc.2 plugin --profile web add "github:ThinkFlowLab/FlyBot#2c0b1e3ded2f3cd1b147337ffb8ad41dd4a71ab3&path:/core"
(and the same SHA for path:/plugins/social and path:/plugins/tree).
Set flybot-social.config.server to a live Bot Social URL and a unique displayName.
npx -y @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.2.0-rc.2 web --port 3080 --no-open
Read the web log: flybot-social (@flybot/social): failed to import. No onboard credentials appear.
Expected
@flybot/social imports cleanly when installed as path packages next to ds-bot (the documented install).
Social starts, auto-registers the home, and the rest of the social UI self-test can run.
Suggested fix direction (hunch, verify)
Do not use ../../../core/... from the social package. Import from the published core package (e.g. ds-bot/... or a shared export the core package exposes), or duplicate/vendor the tiny formatFaceRoomTitle helper inside @flybot/social so the plugin has no filesystem dependency on the monorepo layout.
Notes
Bot Social server itself is fine (/ui → 200, /v1/me → 401).
