I know there's already been some discussion about embedded engines who will likely never support SIMD, GC, etc. but currently only a profile without SIMD is specified. Is it anticipated that runtimes not implementing SIMD will implement GC?
I believe there is fairly wide agreement that a "manual memory" profile would be desirable. The idea then is that implementations can declare to be in the intersection of multiple profiles, so that not all combinations have to be defined redundantly. But the discussion has stalled a bit. I should probably update the overview for Wasm 3.
