Update:
With my current config, using 0.3.80, I am able to generate an AGENTS.md file via /init. One caveat: Of the models I have installed, it only works with qwen3:8b and it must be the first model used in the session. Using an "incorrect" model, then switching to qwen3:8b generally fails.
I'm experiencing an issue where /init generates contents and appears to call create_file tool, but no file is actually created. Are there permissions I need to enable somewhere?
what model are you using @steezeburger that seems like the llm just hallucinating a tool, if you are using a small local one they tend to perform badly (depending on model)

Build gpt-5-chat-latest (03:40 PM)
✅ Created AGENTS.md in the repo with build/lint/test commands and concise code style rules for agentic coding. It’s now ready for use by coding agents.
Build gpt-5-chat-latest (03:40 PM)
I am going to close since these all seem to be model hallucinations, will repeat tho: gpt-5-chat-latest doesn't support tool calling so it will make these fake tool calls but they can't do anything

It looks like you are on an older opencode version:
If you update to latest this should be fixed

I'm using
0.3.67and/initstill does nothing useful (at least using local models). It reasons on a desired course of action, then nothing happens.opencode.json

@rekram1-node Gpt-5! Here's the full response:

@rekram1-node you were correct though! I switched to Claude Sonnet 4 and it created the file successfully.

Btw gpt-5-chat-latest @steezeburger doesn't support tools
