What are the specific use terms of OpenCode Zen & its models per IP address, please? #16844

Description

Dear OpenCode Team,

We have asked for the specific terms of OpenCode Zen usage on several occasions and would appreciate published answers:

  1. How much use is allowed per day before restriction?
  2. Is the limit measured in tokens or LLM requests?
  3. How does that limit account for OpenCode making multiple LLM requests per user prompt?
  4. Under what circumstances may the backend model be changed per the EUA?
  5. When may the quality of the backend model be changed (e.g., substitution of a lesser model)?
  6. When may backend model parameters be changed?
  7. Where can operators of an enterprise stack see these diagnostics?

This week, mid-session, we hit the following without prior warning:

Free usage exceeded, add credits https://opencode.ai/zen [retrying in 20h 44m attempt #1]

We would also like to know when the usage counter shifted from a midnight reset to a 24-hour cycle, and where model/limit changes are announced. Visibility into these terms would materially affect how we plan sessions and budget usage.

    @louiscklaw

    This is Windows with the word "Open" in its name. Not Linux.
    I cannot emphasize how strongly we do not recommend this project, same as OpenAI and ClaudeCode.

    history always repeats itself 😂
