Issue with MCP and config #1720

Closed
Closed

Description

@cjenaro

Could it be that latest release is breaking with the Figma MCP? Or has the config changed somehow and I'm not smart enough.

I had this config working

{
  "model": "github-copilot/claude-sonnet-4",
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "theme": "catppuccin",
  "mcp": {
    "figma-dev-mode": {
      "type": "remote",
      "url": "http://127.0.0.1:3845/mcp",
      "enabled": true
    }
  }
}

Now when running anything it says: ERROR 2025-08-08T16:41:17 +3ms service=default name=MCPClientError message=Internal error cause=[object Object] fatal

Just to be clear the figma MCP was working before, removing it let's me use opencode as usual but there's something wrong with it, even when using opencode without the TUI.

    Possibly related #1595 (albeit I don't have any auth in my case)

    I've created PR #1729 which adds verbosity on DEBUG level about MCP errors. In my case, the remote MCP was not handling mandatory (by MCP "standard") method notifications/initialized and returned a negative HTTP code.
