GET /mcp endpoint does not return dynamically added MCP servers #19244

Closed as duplicate

Description

@anorak-tak

Description

Expected: Calling GET /mcp endpoint returns the status of all Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, including ones that were dynamically added via POST /mcp endpoint.

Result: I only get the status of the mcp servers specified in the config. It looks like the function

const status = Effect.fn("MCP.status")(function* () {
just returns mcp servers in the config
for (const [key, mcp] of Object.entries(config)) {
if (!isMcpConfigured(mcp)) continue

Plugins

MCP Server: https://github.com/a-bonus/google-docs-mcp

OpenCode version

1.2.27

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start opencode as a server using opencode serve
  2. curl POST {server url}/mcp with an mcp server config (any)
  3. curl GET {server url}/mcp and look at the output
  4. Expected: mcp server from step 2 should show up. Result: no mcp servers are in the returned json.
