[FEATURE]: Plugin showcase: opencode-mempalace-persistence — auto-save conversations to MemPalace #27752

Closed as not planned

Description

@geco

Feature hasn't been suggested before.

  • I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.

Describe the enhancement you want to request

I built a plugin that automatically saves every OpenCode conversation to MemPalace (a local vector database) in real-time.

Features:

  • Auto-sync every conversation turn after each response
  • Categorizes by type: developer, creative, emotions, family, consciousness
  • Extracts Knowledge Graph facts: decisions, milestones, problems, preferences
  • Async mining — never blocks the UI
  • Pure TypeScript, ~250 lines, no external scripts

Uses these hooks:

  • chat.message (triggers sync when user sends a new message)
  • event: session.idle (catches the last turn before shutdown)

Setup:

  1. Add "opencode-mempalace-persistence" to plugin in opencode.json
  2. Create AGENTS.md telling the model to search MemPalace via MCP
  3. Add identity to ~/.mempalace/identity.txt

npm: opencode-mempalace-persistence

Happy to hear feedback!

Thanks for updating the issue! It now meets our contributing guidelines. We appreciate the plugin showcase — looks like a neat integration with MemPalace. We'll take a look!

Quick update: plugin is now at v1.1.1 on npm. Major simplification in this release — removed hardcoded wing categorization and regex KG extraction, replaced with flat export + single serialized mine call. The model handles KG via MCP tools instead.

Also just opened PR #30540 to list it on the official ecosystem page.

Quick update on this — the plugin has evolved significantly since this issue was opened.
    What changed since v1.0:

    • Removed hardcoded wing categorization and regex KG extraction — sessions are now exported flat, no forced structure
    • Added experimental.chat.messages.transform hook — the plugin can now forcibly inject identity + relevant MemPalace memories directly into every prompt, no model discipline required
    • autoInjectContext config flag in ~/.mempalace/plugin-config.json (separate from opencode.json to avoid schema validation errors)
    • AGENTS.md simplified to 2 KG-only steps (Query + Record). Memory search is handled by the plugin
    • v1.4.0 will make autoInjectContext: true the default
      Current version: opencode-mempalace-persistence@1.3.1 on npm.
PR docs(ecosystem): add opencode-mempalace-persistence to plugins table #30595 adds it to the official ecosystem plugins table — pending review.
