   This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

   • plugin.copilot: strict schema decode crashes with "Missing key" when a Copilot model lacks max_context_window_tokens #30909: The Copilot plugin fails to decode models when a model lacks max_context_window_tokens, causing the entire models list to fail loading — this could explain why claude-opus-4.8 disappeared from the list after upgrading to 1.16.0.
   • Github Copilot model selector shows unauthorized models and occasionally hides available ones #23338: Copilot model selector inconsistently hides available models.

   If your issue is specifically caused by the schema decode failure described in #30909, you may want to track that one instead.

   I've checked for the issue reported here #30909, but according to my logs, the

   ERROR 2026-06-05T10:43:46 +876ms service=plugin.copilot error=Missing key
     at ["data"][14]["capabilities"]["limits"]["max_context_window_tokens"] failed to fetch copilot models
   

   Was already in the 1.15.11 version logs, where it did show the 4.8 model.
