TUI sidebar "Modified Files" section does not show session diffs #32852

Description
The sidebar's "Modified Files" section remains empty even after opencode modifies files during a session. Previously this worked correctly — the sidebar would show each changed file with the number of added and removed lines (e.g., +5 -2).
Files are confirmed to be modified on disk (git status shows the changes), but the TUI sidebar does not track or display them.
What I expect: After opencode edits a file, the sidebar should list the file under "Modified Files" with line change counts.
What actually happens: The "Modified Files" section never appears, even when multiple files are changed.

Steps to reproduce
- Open opencode in a git repository (opencode)
- Ask opencode to modify a file (e.g., add a comment to README.md)
- Observe that the sidebar "Modified Files" section stays empty
- Verified files are actually modified on disk (git status shows changes)

Have the same issue on 1.17.10, using TUI.

Same issue here. Running opencode 1.18.11 on Linux (TUI). The sidebar "Modified Files" section stays empty after edits — no section rendered at all, even though the per-turn diffs show correctly in the chat and git status confirms the changes on disk. This is a regression since v1.16.0 and it's still unfixed. Any update on #37542 / #37613?

I'm using opencode 1.18.12 on a linux terminal.

Duplicate of #30877 (TUI sidebar "Modified Files" hidden after the v1.16 path-truncation change).
PR #44796, which closes #30877 by restoring the session-level
Session.diffand republishing thesession.diffevent, may also resolve this issue — but I am not 100% certain it covers every case reported here. Cross-referencing for tracking.neriousy commentedon Oct 1, 2026
