[FEATURE]: Handoff skill — save to project directory instead of global temp #36381
I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.
Describe the enhancement you want to request
Problem
The handoff skill saves to the OS temp directory (/tmp/ or %TEMP%), which is global across all projects. When working on multiple projects, handoff files get mixed together or overwritten.
Current Behavior
Handoff file saved to: {os_temp}/opencode/HANDOFF.md
Proposed Behavior
Save handoff to the current project directory when in a git repo or workspace:
Primary: {project_root}/HANDOFF.md
Fallback: {os_temp}/opencode/HANDOFF.md (if no project detected)
Use Case
Working on multiple projects simultaneously. Each project needs its own handoff context for the next session. Global temp loses project-specific state.
Suggested Implementation
Check if CWD is inside a git repo or has a workspace marker

I'd be happy to implement this if no one is already working on it. Please let me know if you'd like me to open a PR.

I think this should be the default. It prevents clutter in the global temp and it keeps project related temp files inside the context.
I find it difficult / tedious to explain to opencode that it should not use global temp and instead write only to local project temp.
Also I only have to give execute permissions for the project folder and not beyond, so it kind of prevents escape from the project context.
