Issue: GitHub Copilot Connection Fails and Loops Back to Model/Provider Selection #37952
Connecting to GitHub Copilot fails. Instead of completing the authentication/connection process, the application returns to the model/provider selection screen, creating an endless loop that prevents GitHub Copilot from being configured or used.
Expected Result
The GitHub Copilot connection is established successfully, and the selected provider becomes available for use.
Actual Result
After the connection process, the application redirects back to the model/provider selection screen instead of completing the setup. Repeating the process results in the same behavior, creating an infinite loop.
Impact
Users are unable to connect to or use GitHub Copilot, blocking access to the provider.
Additional Information
The issue is consistently reproducible.
No error message is displayed. The workflow simply returns to the model/provider selection screen.
GitHub Copilot provider broken #33696: GitHub Copilot provider broken — Copilot auth flow completes but provider still appears disconnected with no models found (similar symptom)
You also mentioned #36819 yourself, but that one is specifically about enabled_providers config not being respected, which is a different issue.
