[FEATURE]: Remote Figma MCP support #3875

Closed as duplicate
Closed as duplicate

Description

@AI091

Feature hasn't been suggested before.

  • I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.

Describe the enhancement you want to request

For using The remote figma MCP, I think it currently isn't supported as I dont see it in the catalog. I find it important and thus switch to claude code when I need to use it.

    I think this should work just fine once #988 is closed.

    Our designer has been wanting this too

    @mrvedmutha

    I tried writing this in opencode.json

    {
      "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
      "mcp": {
         "figma-mcp-dektop": {
           "type": "remote",
           "url": "http://127.0.0.1:3845/mcp"
         }
       }
    }

    Make sure to run mcp in figma app. Hope this helps

    Hey @rekram1-node could we potentially re-open this issue?

    I've setup a few OAuth MCP servers with opencode thanks to #988 being completed via #5014: Linear, Notion and Sentry - all working well 🫶

    However, the remote Figma MCP server doesn't seem to work: 403

        "figma": {
          "type": "remote",
          "url": "https://mcp.figma.com/mcp",
          "oauth": {}
        }
    opencode mcp auth figma

    ┌  MCP OAuth Authentication
    │
    ■  Authentication failed
    │
    ■ Dynamic client registration failed: HTTP 403
    │
    └  Done

    and it might be because Figma blocks it somehow 🥲
    Perhaps yous could request access: https://form.asana.com/?k=kBG-ejRQTdY8x_H6a4vM3Q&d=10497086658021

    You can use Figma Desktop MCP as an alternative while waiting for approval.

    It seems that you need Figma Desktop but I'm on linux, so I'm screwed here. Did you manage to make it work?

    Yep this works for me https://github.com/connorads/opencode/tree/mcp-auth-workaround?tab=readme-ov-file#mcp-auth-workaround

  17. Oudwins commented on Feb 28, 2026

    @Oudwins

    @rekram1-node would it be possible to expose configuration for the values needed to enable this workaround on a per mcp basis? This would allow people to enable this on their own if they want/are okay with it. If this is something you would be open to I can take a look at adding the configuration

    I don't think this was mentioned in the thread: https://github.com/sdaoudi/mcp-auth-helper

    Worked like a charm for me

    Figma works in OpenCode V2 now through our officially supported MCP client. It uses a published, Figma-approved app, and we’ll announce it more publicly soon.

    We’ll also have a plugin registry and npm installation soon. For now, install the plugin from Git:

    opencode plugin add 'git+https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode.git#path:packages/plugins/figma'

    The plugin sets up the approved Figma endpoint and official skills. Then open /mcps, select figma, and sign in with your Figma account.

    If you previously configured Figma manually, remove the old mcp.servers.figma entry first so the plugin can use the approved endpoint.

    V2 setup: https://opencode.ai/v2/docs/
