After updating to v1.0.39, all themes in the default macOS Terminal have become very dim.
Only the System theme remains somewhat bright, but it has a strange color scheme — I can barely see what I’m typing.
All other themes are so dim that they’re practically unusable.
What I’ve tried
Reinstalled OpenCode
Removed all caches and configuration files
Deleted anything related to OpenCode and reinstalled again
This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:
1.0+ is unusable in non-truecolor terminal #3671: Similar display issues with Terminal.app on macOS after v1.0 release - describes UI being unusable in non-truecolor terminal environments, specifically mentioning Terminal.app on macOS
Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.
This also happens with iTerm2 and Ghostty though. Currently, opencode is painful to use. Have to switch to dark mode while everything else is on solarized.
I was able to fix this by telling Terminal to declare its terminal type as "xterm-256color" in Profiles -> Advanced -> TermInfo. I'd previously had it set to "xterm".

The same issue happened with me, but after I pressed backspace, it's gone and now it works fine.

realistically we're not going to be able to offer much support for the default mac terminal - there's too much functionality missing in it
is there a particular reason why you're stuck using it?
