OpenCode Go gateway returns 500 on POST /zen/go/v1/chat/completions (all models, all keys) #40453
If your issue is distinct (e.g. the 500 is consistently reproducible now rather than intermittent, or persists after those issues are resolved), please note that in the issue.
Additional reproduction from Kali Linux — muse-spark-1.2-contributor
Confirming this on opencode-go/muse-spark-1.2-contributor. Same signature as the
original report: GET /zen/go/v1/models returns 200, but every POST to /chat/completions returns 500 at the Cloudflare edge.
HTTP/2 500date: Mon, 31 Aug 2026 15:09:03 GMTcontent-type: text/plain;charset=UTF-8server: cloudflarecf-ray: a33cf442afea7a8c-CLT
{"type":"error","error":{"type":"error","message":"Internal server error"}}
Note the content-type: text/plain on a JSON body — consistent with the edge
generating this response rather than the upstream model service.
Ruled out locally
Auth token valid; network path healthy.
Disabled local MCP servers (kali, kali-tools) — no change.
Client-side symptom
In the TUI the request hangs with the spinner running, then flips to interrupted with no error surfaced, while local context is still consumed.
This matches the "sub-agent timeout, no error" behaviour described in the
original report, and is likely amplified by the unbounded 5xx retry policy
tracked in #25041.
Separate finding (possibly unrelated to the 500)
From ~/.local/share/opencode/log/, the background title generator sends reasoning.effort: "none", which this model rejects with a 400:
[invalid_request_error] "reasoning.effort" does not support "none" with this model.
Filing here for visibility since it also affects muse-*, but it is a distinct
failure class from the gateway 500 above. Happy to open it separately if
preferred.
Question
Is the 500 region-gated? muse-spark-1.2-contributor is documented as
"available in select regions", and #43692 shows a RegionError for
unsupported countries. If the gateway is collapsing that check into a generic
500, a clearer error would save a lot of debugging time.
Thanks for the report! OpenCode 2.0 is now out and development is focused on V2, so we're closing issues filed against OpenCode 1. Please upgrade (opencode upgrade --major, details: https://anoma.ly/notes/opencode-2-0), and if this is still relevant on 2.0, reopen this issue or open a new one with your 2.0 version.
