There are some issues with the google-vertex/gemini-3-pro-preview model.
the plan mode makes the model go into existential crisis, as it appears it doesn't know when to stop and just wants to build the feature and questions its existence when it can't
the compact command is treated by the model as a subterfuge to just start working on whatever todos it finds in the repo
For plan mode issue - it happens rarely, and it's fixable if add to prompt 'only plan, no execution'.
So i assume it's not opencode issue. It looks like model problem.
Compact issue - well i didn't have a chance to try it yet since this model has 2m context window :)
Session naming issue - that's the biggest one for now. Doesn't work at all!!

I'm running into issues with gemini-3-pro-preview too, and I'm getting 503 model overloaded errors from Google's API. It seems like this is a problem on Google's end, with their service being unstable, rather than an issue with OpenCode configuration.
When I search online, I see that a lot of users are reporting the same problem. They're getting 503 errors and empty responses with this model. The model appears to be unreliable for extended use.
