GitHub Copilot shows "connected" but models are missing in selector #50575

Closed as duplicate

Description

@CarrickLo

Describe the bug
GitHub Copilot shows "connected" in the Providers list, but no Copilot models appear in the model selection list or under "Manage models".

To Reproduce

Connect GitHub Copilot via OAuth in Providers settings.

Receive the success prompt "GitHub Copilot connected".

Open the model selector / Manage models.

Copilot models are not visible (only OpenCode Zen models are displayed).

Expected behavior
GitHub Copilot models (e.g., GPT-4o, Claude) should be listed and selectable.

    This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

    Issue #42083 in particular documents that this is caused by GitHub's API returning model_picker_enabled: false for all models, and includes a plugin-based workaround you can use in the meantime.

    Closing as a duplicate of #34644.

    GitHub Copilot Free and Student plans now only allow Auto model selection, so Copilot's /models returns every model with model_picker_enabled: false and OpenCode ends up listing no Copilot models. #34644 tracks adding a github-copilot/auto model for these plans; the fix is in progress in #55960.

    If you're on a paid Copilot plan (Pro, Pro+, Business or Enterprise) and still see no models, reply here and we'll reopen.
