Recently hitting a 'request entity too large' response when using any model via Copilot. I haven't hit my usage limits (edu subscription) and the codebase is quite small. Sometimes happens when introducing screenshots, but even after removing these the issue persists. Often requires multiple session restarts or reworking from scratch.
Only way I've been able to recover from this is with /undo as long as your last prompt is what caused the issue. For example, this happened to me after adding/tagging an image.

I also encountered this issue. When using GitHub Copilot Opus 4.6 and testing web pages with the MCP tool Chrome DevTools, this problem occurs after taking several screenshots. The version of OpenCode is 1.2.15.

+1 I am also facing this, since this evening.
It surfaced on a session with many screenshots, on a project without screenshots i did not hit this today, yet.

Same thing just happened to me.
Didn't think it was a copilot thing. @Clock-Drift

Same here with claude-sonnet-4.
It happens with a big Playwright Testing Suite and several screenshots.

It has stopped for me. I think Copilot is having issues, or this is just their rate limiting.
Some models disappeared recently from my Copilot account, only to come back this morning. I'm not sure what's going on at Microsoft/GitHub.

It happens to me too on v1.1.12. Reproducible with multiple Copilot models after accumulating a few images in the conversation.

seems these issues might soon be a thing of the past as copilot auth will be official per this post!

Happened to me now (version 1.2.5) when trying to read large image files.

persists on any model on Copilot on OpenCode

Same thing here
raymelon commentedon Feb 23, 2026
Experienced the same issue after a Copilot model attempted to read a screenshot.
Switching models saves the session. However, switching back to the Copilot model will just yield the same error.
Forking the session then compacting the fork didn't work either.
OpenCode 1.2.6 on any Copilot model
kyriakossdr commentedon Feb 25, 2026
I managed to resolve this by compressing the images. After reducing them from ~2MB to ~0.5MB, it was able to read both images.
OpenCode 1.2.10 on Claude Sonnet 4.5 Copilot.

same problem here, github copilot opus 4.6 with opencode 1.2.15. seems like there's no way to back out of this..
raymelon commentedon Mar 4, 2026
@kyriakossdr This is smart. As long as the reference (image path) is the same, there should be no issue? I will try.

This can fix those issues:
