Tool calling broken with 1.1.14 and gemini-2.5-pro #8008
I need to commit the staged files. To do this, I will first look at the staged changes and recent commit messages to create an appropriate commit message. Then I will create the commit.call:bash{command:
and then it sometimes calls the tool but sometimes does not. When I try the same with 1.1.7 (what I had before the upgrade), it just works.
I have downgraded for now as this is really breaking change for me. I am just starting to get something useful done with opencode 👍

OpenCode version
1.1.14
Steps to reproduce
I say "commit what's staged"
It shows some tokens leaking out and stops mid response.
I need to commit the staged files. The recent commit messages are not descriptive, so I will create a more informative one. First, I'll read the diff of the staged files to understand the changes.call:bash{command:<ctrl46>git diff --staged<ctrl46>,description:<ctrl46>Getting the staged changes to create a commit message.<ctrl46>}

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:
thoughtSignaturesupport #4832: [BUG]: Gemini 3 Pro function calling fails - missingthoughtSignaturesupport - directly addresses tool calling failures with Gemini models, specifically mentions thoughtSignature field that appears in your error outputFeel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

Then instead of doing the diff it just stops.

I am no longer forced to use gemini-2.5 and since nobody appears to have the same problem, I think this is safe to close.
