I faced the same issue and have found a solution to get the internet working again. Inspired by this post, I realized that the installation script must have renamed the existing /etc/resolv.conf into /etc/resolv.conf.old, while having created a new resolv.conf. I simply deleted the resolv.conf and renamed the resolv.conf.old back to resolv.conf, executed systemctl start systemd-resolved - and everything worked fine again! In case the resolv.conf deletion fails with a "operation not permitted" message, you have to remove the immutable flag by executing sudo chattr -i resolv.conf.

@thorsten-hehn You are a lifesaver. I tried running this script on linux mint and it scuppered all connections. In my case, and most stock Mint users, there is no resolv.conf file per-se, but a symlink to the config proper. After running your chattr command, deleting the broken config this script made, and running ln -s /run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf resolv.conf I got connectivity back. Thanks again!
