pstack: poteto-mode can't start from a stored prompt (task cards, scheduled or headless sessions) #1173

Open

Description

@apenab

In Claude Code, poteto-mode has disable-model-invocation: true, so it only starts when a person types /pstack:poteto-mode. A session that opens with a stored prompt instead gets that text as an ordinary message, and the Skill tool refuses it:

Skill pstack:poteto-mode cannot be used with Skill tool due to disable-model-invocation. Ask the user to run /pstack:poteto-mode themselves

That covers task cards in the Claude desktop app, scheduled tasks and orchestrated claude -p runs.

This makes poteto-mode unusable for delegated work, which is where its playbooks help most: one session writes the goal, done check and proof the guide asks for, and another runs it.

Ask: let poteto-mode be invoked by the model when the prompt explicitly starts with /pstack:poteto-mode or /poteto-mode, for example by dropping the flag on poteto-mode alone, as #379 proposed for unslop. Or document a supported way to launch it from a stored prompt.

Workaround we use: a user skill that reads installed_plugins.json, then reads and follows <installPath>/skills/poteto-mode/SKILL.md. It works, but it bypasses the flag the authors set on purpose, so an official path would be better.

Version: pstack 0.15.36, Claude Code desktop.
