Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '0')

I'm installing this on a brand new debian container with just rust and surrealdb. removing rust doesn't help, and the container builds fine wirh rust. This is my the log that I get.

I moved to docker outside of docker compose(or something like that) and made surrealdb a separate container & it works that way. But my devcontainer.json was the default that you get when you select Debian, Rust, and SurrealDB.
