pm(kaneo): install the developing.today GitHub App on dezren39/nix and connect it (org repos done 2026-10-25) #1007

Closed

Description

@dezren39

The three remaining repos are not yet connected to Kaneo: the scaffolding merged in PR #854 (Kaneo projects created, pm-stack/connect-repo.sh, pm-stack/kaneo-projects.json), but the GitHub App installs are owner-only browser steps (org installation 174792676 for developing-today/opencode and developing-today/openchamber; a personal install for dezren39/nix, which needs the app made public or a second app registered).
After each install: run ./connect-repo.sh connect <slug> for the one-time issue import, prove sync with a throwaway issue, and verify Kaneo task counts against GitHub open-issue counts.

Acceptance criteria

  • The GitHub App is installed for developing-today/opencode, developing-today/openchamber, and dezren39/nix (owner-only browser steps, recorded on this issue as each completes).
  • ./connect-repo.sh connect <slug> has been run for each repo and the one-time issue import completed.
  • Sync is proven per repo with a throwaway issue, and Kaneo task counts are verified against GitHub open-issue counts.

    Intake review

Fleet monitor intake pass (2026-10-26): this issue arrived with no labels and no acceptance criteria; criteria appended to the body above, labels normalized.

    • Related: PR build(repo): connect remaining repos to Kaneo — projects + script + registry #854 (merged scaffolding: Kaneo projects, pm-stack/connect-repo.sh, pm-stack/kaneo-projects.json). This is the code-repo tracking issue for a three-repo connection set (opencode, openchamber, nix) — one issue tracks the set; do not file per-repo duplicates.
    • Notes: The remaining work is genuinely owner-gated: GitHub App installs are browser steps only the account owner can perform. Marked status/blocked for that reason — this is a Drew action list, not agent work, until each install lands.
    • Risks: The dezren39/nix install may need the app made public or a second app registered; decide that before starting the installs.
    • Suggested approach: Drew performs the three installs; then an agent run does the connect-repo.sh import + throwaway-issue sync proof per repo and records counts here.
    • Labels: kind/infrastructure, source/human, status/blocked, priority/normal, effort/s.

Correction (2026-10-26, Muse — supersedes this issue's title premise):

The org-repo half of this issue has been DONE since 2026-10-25 and was re-verified live tonight via ./pm-stack/connect-repo.sh status on the laptop:

    • code — installation 174792676; 329 GitHub open issues; 373 Kaneo tasks, 373 issue links
    • opencode — installation 174792676; 51 open; 79 Kaneo tasks, 79 issue links
    • openchamber — installation 174792676; 62 open; 82 Kaneo tasks, 82 issue links

The only remainder is dezren39/nix — app NOT installed, because the org-owned app is private and a personal-account install is not offered for private apps. Per Drew's direction tonight ("use the developing.today app for everything; go to the website and do it"), the app is being made public and installed on dezren39/nix, after which connect-repo.sh connect nix closes this issue. Verification of counts after connect is tracked in #1221.

This issue stays open for the nix leg only.

RESOLVED 2026-10-27 ~03:37 CDT — the nix leg is done; all four repos are now connected.

What it took: the app was private, and a private app can only be installed on its owning account (the org), which is why dezren39/nix was unreachable. The app is now PUBLIC (visibility changed on the org app settings; no permission, webhook, or other setting changes — the app gained the required description first). It was then installed on the personal account:

    • Installation: dezren39, installation ID 175747567, 'Only select repositories' = exactly dezren39/nix, installed 2026-10-27 03:36 CDT, verified at github.com/settings/installations.

Connect run on the laptop (connect-repo.sh connect nix):

    • dezren39/nix covered by installation 175747567
    • import: 178 imported, 0 updated, 0 skipped
    • Kaneo: 178 tasks, 178 issue links, 178 not in Done

Fleet status (connect-repo.sh status, same run):

    • code — installation 174792676 — 403 open issues — 464 tasks / 464 links
    • opencode — installation 174792676 — 58 open — 86 / 86
    • openchamber — installation 174792676 — 65 open — 90 / 90
    • nix — installation 175747567 — 178 open — 178 / 178

Closing: the org-repo legs were completed 2026-10-25; the nix leg — the last open item on this issue — is verified complete.
