Description
Gather stats - core threadripper machines
Parent epic: #1080 (basement cluster program). Project home: planning/roadmaps/basement-cluster.md.
Power each core Threadripper machine, confirm it boots, and fill its inventory record (task 1.1 template) from live data: OS-level probe where an OS exists, BMC/KVM screens where it does not. Every CPU already boots and all RAM works (Drew, 2026-10-20) - this task turns that into recorded data.
Acceptance: one completed record per core machine, committed; any machine that fails to boot or reports bad hardware gets its own issue.
Physical work notes
- Location: basement / server room, Osseo WI.
- Tools/parts: as listed in the task; note anything missing on this issue before starting.
- Safety: machines unplugged before drive or cable work; circuits are electrician-only work (epic 3).
- Verification: attach a photo of the finished state (and SMART/KVM output where relevant) to this issue before closing.

planning/roadmaps/basement-cluster.mdat current HEAD still lists "Hardware inventory and first-node selection" (epic(cluster): hardware inventory & first-node selection #1080) as planned, with intent "Gather hardware stats for all ~12 machines and pick the first 3–5 cluster nodes" — no completed per-machine inventory records are committed. The issue's own acceptance requires powering each core Threadripper machine in the basement/server room (Osseo, WI), confirming boot, probing via OS/BMC/KVM, and attaching a photo of the finished state. No agent can do that remotely; this is Drew-on-site work, not a code fix, so no small_fix follow-up packet is appropriate.user/escalated+status/blocked.planning/roadmaps/basement-cluster.mddezren39 commentedon Oct 29, 2026
BOARD CLEARING (2026-10-29): Drew confirmed on 2026-10-29 that the on-site basement hardware session is HIS task — ownership claimed, no decision outstanding for the fleet. Removed from the needs-Drew board (user/escalated dropped). The issue stays open and blocked on the physical session itself; dependents stay parked behind it.

state: reviewed (coverage loop-back)
Coverage pass 2026-11-03, loop-back review: this issue was re-reviewed (drift / overlap / already-handled / stale / blockers / ordering) so every open issue in the four repos is reviewed and in the system. Verdict: still live; in the system as task 2362 (triage, blocked, priority 30) in repo-health-code-pilot. Labels audited and synced. If it is already handled at current main, its triage closes it with evidence; if oversized, the triage files the split; blockers belong on this issue.
