id: one line grammar for SSH command mode, the id world join pump and CLI verbs (--command-mode) #546

Closed

Description

What and why

The line grammar should mirror the id world subcommands (chat, records, stats, logs, caps, quit), so the same sentence works as an SSH command, a piped script line and a CLI one-off. The id world join stdin pump should gain the same grammar and an explicit --command-mode flag. The same sentence should work as an SSH command, a piped script line and a CLI one-off. Today the three surfaces each know a different subset.

Source

  • RPT §6 'Design rule'
  • RPT §7 Step 2 'Mode selection' and 'What the CLI gains'

RPT = doc/2026-10-18T18-40-00Z_report_platform_world_state/2026-10-18T18-40-00Z_report_platform_world_state.md, REF = doc/2026-10-18T00-00-00Z_reference_platform_state/2026-10-18T00-00-00Z_reference_platform_state.md. Both are uncommitted reports in the platform-world-apps-migration worktree.

Current status

Partial. SSH command mode supports only /help, /quit, /records, /documents, /document, /input (pkgs/id/src/world_ssh.rs:620-668 world_command), with no /stats, /logs or /caps. The join pump knows only /quit and /input (pkgs/id/src/commands/world.rs:1005-1006). There is no command-mode flag in pkgs/id/src/cli.rs.

Acceptance criteria

  • A short plan fixes the grammar, mirroring the id world subcommands (chat, records, stats, logs, caps, quit)
  • SSH command mode supports /stats, /logs and /caps
  • The id world join stdin pump parses the same grammar, behind an explicit --command-mode flag
  • One shared parser, with tests that the same line yields the same action on SSH, the pump and the CLI

Size

M

Prerequisites

  • D1-037 SSH command (line) mode as an explicit login-time entry (cmd: prefix) (done)

Implemented in PR #808 (id Phase 11 foundations, session B of the id train), merged to main as 49ee287 with all checks green. The PR body documents the implementation for this item. Closing as complete — reopen if verification finds a gap.
