Some agent-created commits break co-authorship due to Copilot-Session after Co-authored-by #5032

Open

Description

@mwiemer-microsoft

Describe the bug

dotnet/roslyn@44dae51

The commit message ends with:

Co-authored-by: Copilot App <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com>

Copilot-Session: 77433a88-b4a0-4544-a037-95cd38bc23e3

However, GitHub requires Co-authored-by to be the very last line, so GitHub does not recognize co-authorship in this case.

Affected version

GitHub Copilot CLI 1.0.91.

I was technically using the desktop app, v1.1.25.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

Unclear, this occurred at least three times during a very long polling session that generated 100+ commits. Happy to provide details via Teams.

Expected behavior

No response

Additional context

Probably best to just check commit list on that PR, all commits were AI-generated.
