Describe the bug

Pretty often, Copilot CLI gets stuck waiting for or generating a response, e.g.:

I've been waiting for over a minute with no indication of progress (which seems like a bug in its own right), so I press ESC and it goes to:

... but never completes cancellation either, so I have to just ctrl+c to quit the app.

Shouldn't take forever to complete its response, but if it does, esc should cancel and make the app able to continue accepting input.

Same issue here.

Workaround: Kill terminal, open chat again by using copilot --resume and continue.

I have a reliable repro for this now: run sleep 400 via the bash tool

I believe when we added streaming, we might've forgotten to check the abort signal within those loops. Working on a fix now.

Fix is merged and should go out in the next release. We weren't propagating abort signals to a couple of tools like the bash tool, and not stopping to check them while in the process of iterating over the output stream. In all of my manual tests and repros cancellations are now instantaneous. But please reopen this issue if you aren't seeing that after the next mainline release.
