Herdr is a terminal multiplexer designed for managing coding agents and persistent terminal sessions. Conduit can already connect over SSH or Mosh, but accessing Herdr currently requires connecting to the host and launching it manually.
First-class Herdr support would make Conduit especially useful for monitoring and controlling coding agents from a phone. Mosh would also allow the connection to survive network changes, such as switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data.
Suggested behavior
It would be great to have an optional per-host Herdr integration similar to the existing tmux integration:
Automatically start or attach to Herdr after connecting.
Support both SSH and Mosh connections.
Allow selecting a named Herdr session.
Provide convenient actions for attaching, detaching, and switching panes.
Preserve mobile-friendly key handling and terminal rendering.
A minimal first version could simply allow users to enable "Auto-start Herdr" for a host and configure the command, for example:
herdr
or:
herdr --session
Later, deeper integration could use Herdr's remote client or API to expose agent status and navigation more naturally in Conduit.
