Open

Description

@boudo

In the configuration of the package.json file to use node-pre-gyp

    "dependencies"  : {
      "@mapbox/node-pre-gyp": "1.x"
    },
    "devDependencies": {
      "aws-sdk": "2.x"
    }
    "scripts": {
        "install": "node-pre-gyp install --fallback-to-build"
    },
    "binary": {
        "module_name": "your_module",
        "module_path": "./lib/binding/",
        "host": "https://your_module.s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com"
    }

Is it possible to use or force the use of a URL in HTTP in the declaration of the binary object as follows ?

    "binary": {
        "host": "http://my-url.com"
    }

    we host a private repo that does not support HTTPS inbound connections, hence an option to bypass https requirement would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
