System.out.println not working in Microsoft Java Debugger #984
Really annoying, this.
Lots of java code with System.out.println(...) lines.
I was able to see one line work in the starter Main code, but nowhere else.
They used to work a few years ago, now do not. ...just do not print anywhere!
Unable to find something in the Microsoft Debugger for Java to turn this on.
Do I need a special import line in each source file to enable this?

VS Code Java debugger sends System.out/err output to the Debug Console by default (not the integrated terminal). Open Debug Console (View → Debug Console) to see your prints.
• Issue: THE CODE DOESNT GET EXEXUTED (THE CODE DOESNT GET EXEXUTED vscode-java-pack#1303)
THE CODE DOESNT GET EXEXUTED vscode-java-pack#1303 (comment)
If you prefer the integrated terminal, enable it in your settings or launch configuration:
• Add to your settings.json:
• Or in your launch.json:
{ "type": "java", "request": "launch", "console": "integratedTerminal", … }See: Debug console should be displayed when in use (Debug console should be displayed when in use vscode-java-debug#894)
Debug console should be displayed when in use vscode-java-debug#894
No extra imports are needed:
Systemand itsout/printlnlive injava.lang, which is imported by default. For general guidance, see the VS Code Java debugging docs:
