Hi, I just found out about vscode tasks, and I thought it'd be cool if there were support for auto-detecting tasks for some of the Makefile-like frameworks in the python ecosystem.
I'm not sure which of those frameworks support exporting "task" information in a structured format, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to implement upstream.

I personally do like this idea, so maybe it can happen still some day. We are also working on a public API for getting the selected interpreter, so hopefully making your own extension that does this won't be too difficult in the future!

No hard feelings and I love the data-driven prioritization approach :)
