Description

Discussed in #15952

Originally posted by thernstig April 14, 2021
Hi! A new, promising Python dependency management tool has entered the market: https://pdm.fming.dev/

It supports pep 582 and has a section to describe how to set it up: https://pdm.fming.dev/#vscode

Would it not be better if this extension has information about this in its documentation for how to setup a project that utilizes pep 582?

FYI, there is another new promising Python dependency management tool using PEP 582: https://github.com/David-OConnor/pyflow

The Python steering council announced the rejection of PEP 582 today, so we won't be implementing support.
