Attention VSCode users: MagicPython is used as the default Python highlighter in Visual Studio Code. Don't install it unless you want or need the cutting edge version of it. You will likely see no difference because you're already using MagicPython.
They say MagicPython is already in VScode.
But in fact, VScode not support Cython yet. (If you try it, you will see).
I'm re-opening as MagicPython said it may be a long time until they get to it, so it would be good to know if we need to add this support ourselves before they are able to.
To help manage our issues and to better communicate what the team plans to work on we are closing issues that we don't plan to work on but would accept a pull request from a volunteer for. To be clear, closing this issue does not mean we won't consider a pull request for this enhancement as outlined in our contributing guide, just that the development team has no plans to work on it themselves.

If you can get MagicPython to add support then we will get it automatically.

Right, so my point is that if MagicPython adds Cython syntax highlighting support it will end up in VS Code.

you are right, Brett Cannon (@brettcannon) this is VScode/MagicPython's issue.
I added it to https://github.com/MagicStack/MagicPython
I closed this issue.

Mark Mikofski (@mikofski) hopefully it gets contributed back upstream to MagicPython.
