Allow configuring the page content width
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
First of all, I really like Collectives. I recently started using it as the main place for all of my project documentation.
The only thing that feels limiting is the page width.
On larger desktop monitors, the default page width feels quite narrow, especially for technical documentation with tables, code blocks, diagrams and architecture notes.
The Full Width option can be too wide, so there is currently no comfortable middle ground.
Describe the solution you'd like
It would be great to have an additional page width option.
For example:
Another possible solution would be allowing users to configure the maximum content width in their personal settings.
This would let each user choose the layout that works best for them without changing the current default behaviour.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I looked into using custom CSS, but the current Custom CSS app is not compatible with Nextcloud 34.
Modifying the Collectives CSS directly also does not seem like a good long-term solution because those changes would be lost after updates.
Additional context
This would be especially useful for technical documentation, API documentation, architecture documents, project specifications, large tables and code blocks.
The current default width leaves a significant amount of unused space on larger monitors, while Full Width can make the lines too long to read comfortably.
An intermediate Wide mode would provide a much better balance.
Thank you for considering this request. I understand that this may not be a priority, but I think it would make Collectives much more comfortable to use on larger screens if it is feasible to add.
