At the 2026 H2 (Bologna) collab summit, we discussed soliciting user feedback on a potential consumption experience change, whereby some less ubiquitous modules are official plugins in the same vain as many frameworks (like fastify’s fastify, @fastify/auth, @fastify/caching, etc)
In node’s case, there could be something like
import{createLogger}from'@nodejs/logger';
If a package becomes ubiquitous, it could get moved into Core (eg @nodejs/logger → node:logger).
How might it be best to collect this feedback from users? It would’ve been ideal to incorporate it into the user survey, but we missed that ship 🫠
