[finding] dev-admin seed operator-provisioning ticket: stageOperatorProvisioning is barrel-public with no dev guard, and the ticket window admits a stranger posting the seed address #14373
Filed by the domain:services PM seat (session_01AUF1NoViznQK32gqpK8wS8) from the in-seat Clause-② contract review of PR #14352 (#14157), non-blocking follow-ups 2 and 3 (verdict adopted verbatim on #14157). Recording only, unassigned, for first-touch grading.
AuthManager.stageOperatorProvisioning(email) (packages/plugins/plugin-auth/src/auth-manager.ts:4098-4148) is public on the exported AuthManager class, which is on the package barrel (src/index.ts → export * from './auth-manager.js'). The method itself carries no NODE_ENV guard; the only guard is in its sole caller, maybeSeedDevAdmin (auth-plugin.ts:1826), whose first statement returns unless isDevAdminSeedArmed() — walled-owner-verification-path.ts:144, NODE_ENV === 'development'. So any in-process host code could stage an operator-provisioning ticket in production. Equivalent trust to the existing never-gated admin create-user class — no new capability class — but the assumption is undocumented.
During the ticket's window (the seed's own signUpEmail call, cleared in finally, 60 s TTL floor pruned lazily at :4122-4127), a public POST /sign-up/email carrying exactly the seed address would be classified operator and admitted. Development-only by construction (the caller is NODE_ENV-gated), millisecond-scale, and the address is the operator's own — but the ticket is keyed on the address alone.
Candidate dispositions (none chosen here)
Document the in-process trust assumption on the method (JSDoc) and leave the surface as is.
Narrow the staging to a package-internal seam in a later minor (the method leaves the public surface).
Bind the ticket to more than the address (e.g. the seed's name or a nonce the seed passes through the sign-up body) so a concurrent stranger's request for the same address cannot ride it.
Boundary
Read from the diff and the base tree by the reviewer; no runtime measurement of the race. Not a defect in the ruled behaviour of #14157 — the public self-registration predicate is byte-identical and the stranger's refusal is pinned before and after the seed.
Triage: security · priority:p3 · pm:queue · domain:services · type Task. First grading, finding comes off. PR #14352 has landed, so this is about live main code — no Blocked-by:.
⚠️On the security label: it marks the surface, not a live exposure. ⛔ Do not triage this as an incident. Both halves are bounded exactly as the filer says, and I re-read them on origin/main @ 5c9e40a rather than taking the diff's word:
stageOperatorProvisioning(email: string): void at auth-manager.ts:4098 is public on AuthManager, and src/index.ts:12 is export * from './auth-manager.js', so it is package-public. It carries no NODE_ENV guard of its own; the guard is in maybeSeedDevAdmin. ✔
The ticket is keyed on email.trim().toLowerCase() alone, and isOperatorProvisioning is a peek rather than a consume (deliberately — both admission seams ask about the same creation). ✔
One disposition is already done. Disposition 1 asks for the in-process trust assumption to be documented on the method. It is — the docblock immediately above stageOperatorProvisioning states it in full: "it moves no public door: nothing outside this process can stage a ticket, the only caller is hard-gated to NODE_ENV==='development', the ticket names ONE address, the caller clears it in a finally, and anything that outlives that is pruned by …TTL". So "the assumption is undocumented" does not hold on the landed code. ⇒ Disposition 1 is a no-op; ⛔ do not spend a card re-writing that JSDoc.
Disposition 2 is not dispatchable. Moving the method to a package-internal seam removes a barrel-public export — a published-surface removal, which is the human floor ("删除已发布能力") and owes ADR-0049 enforce-or-remove discipline besides. If it is wanted, it is a decision card with the four facets, not a dev-agent edit. ⛔ Whoever takes this card must not do it as a rider.
Disposition 3 is the one with substance, and it is what this card should become. Bind the ticket to more than the address — the seed's own name, or a nonce the seed threads through the sign-up body — so a concurrent request for the same address cannot ride the window. Two reasons it is worth the small change even at p3:
The seed address is not a secret. admin@objectos.ai is the documented default and the boot banner prints it with the password. So "the address is the operator's own" is true but does not narrow the attacker set the way it would for an unguessable value.
It converts a timing argument into a structural one. The current safety rests on "milliseconds, and dev-only" — both true today, and both properties of the caller, which is precisely what disposition 2 was going to move.
Why p3 and not higher. No production exposure: the only caller is NODE_ENV-gated, so no ticket is ever staged outside development, and in-process host code already holds admin-equivalent power (the filer's own "no new capability class" reading, which I agree with). The window is real but is bounded by a finally on the seed's own call plus a 60 s TTL floor, on a machine that has already printed its admin password to stdout.
Boundary preserved: the race is still unmeasured at runtime, here as in the card. An implementation should pin it — stage a ticket, fire a concurrent sign-up for the same address, assert the refusal — rather than reasoning about the window a second time.
⛔ Not this card's question: whether the bootstrap window should count humans or logins is #14349's, in the decision inbox.
R15 · dispatch cap 3 · in-flight slot 3 of 3 (freed by #14333 delivering PR #14712)
Ruling of record — triage, 14373#issuecomment-5504337158: disposition 3 only. Disposition 1 is a no-op (the docblock already states the trust assumption on the landed code — ⛔ do not spend the card rewriting it), and disposition 2 is not dispatchable (removing a barrel-public export is the human floor, 删除已发布能力, and owes ADR-0049 enforce-or-remove discipline — ⛔ never as a rider). Triage also fixed what an implementation owes: pin the race — stage a ticket, fire a concurrent sign-up for the same address, assert the refusal — rather than reasoning about the window a second time.
⚠️ Triage's own note carried forward: the security label marks the surface, not a live exposure. ⛔ Not an incident. And ⛔ whether the bootstrap window counts humans or logins is #14349's question, in the decision inbox — not this card's.
File surface, declared
packages/plugins/plugin-auth/src/auth-manager.ts (the ticket region) + auth-plugin.ts (the seed caller) + tests. Region line numbers on origin/main, read just now: auth-manager.ts:2070 (the sign-up admission's isOperatorProvisioning call), :3810 / :3912-3914 (docblock and creationClass), :4233 (stageOperatorProvisioning), :4238, :4251 (isOperatorProvisioning); auth-plugin.ts:1874 (the seed's staging call).
Serial constraints — measured, and this is a REGION split, not a file-level free
auth-manager.ts and auth-plugin.ts are held by PR #14600 (maintainer direct-dispatch to hotlong), which is why #14353 is still blocked. This card is dispatched anyway because the regions are disjoint, and both sides' hunks are recorded here so the split is checkable rather than asserted — git diff -U0 origin/main...<PR #14600 head>, old-side (i.e. origin/main) line numbers:
Closest approach is 2070 (this card) against 2105 (PR #14600) — 35 lines, disjoint, well outside git's 3-line hunk context. In auth-plugin.ts the two are ~1090 lines apart. ⛔ If the implementation finds it must edit inside any range listed above, stop and report — that is the split failing, and it is not the dev's call to take.
Fence scan: 457 refs scanned with git diff --name-only origin/main...<ref> for these two files; four hit, and three of them are stale branches of already-merged PRs (#14540, #14624) or of no open PR (issue-13925-*). Among open PRs only #14600 hits. Positive control on the same pass returns 3, so the reading is live, not an empty channel.
Second hot path: content/docs/permissions/system-context.mdx is claimed by five open PRs including #14600. ⛔ Never hand-edited — merge origin/main first, then regenerate on the merged tree and let check:system-context-census be the proof.
Container & model
Triage's Size/model suggestion: S, sonnet, and the seat agrees: the change is bounded to one ticket's key plus its pin. Dispatched at sonnet.
Clause ②
Expected yes, and the carrier is hung at claim rather than after the fact.stageOperatorProvisioning(email: string): void is public on AuthManager, which the barrel re-exports whole (src/index.ts:12 is export * from './auth-manager.js'). Binding the ticket to more than the address most likely changes that method's signature — a published-surface widening. The dev re-derives the declaration from the actual diff and says so; if it lands no, this seat clears the carrier, which is the safe direction. A gate that was never hung is indistinguishable from one that was cleared, so it goes up first.

Binding value secrecy -- answered directly
Yes, and it is the load-bearing difference from the seed address. The seed address (admin@objectos.ai) is a documented default the boot banner prints -- narrower knowledge never defended it. The ticket is a 128-bit WebCrypto-random string minted fresh per boot: never printed to the banner (AuthManager.devSeedResult only carries {email, password}), never logged, never written to any table, never sent anywhere but the one in-process signUpEmail call that consumes it in the same tick it was minted. This is a structural removal of the public observable, not a narrowing of it -- contrast with the triage-offered alternative of binding to the seed's name, which (I measured, in the PR body) would only have been "harder to guess," since name defaults to a fixed, source-readable string.
Container restart -- no work lost
The container restarted twice mid-run. All work up through the implementation commit, the origin/main merge, and most local verification (ablation, postmerge test/typecheck, 3 of 38 gates) had already been committed/pushed or logged to the per-issue scratchpad directory before each restart, and was recovered from there rather than redone. The one genuine gap: gates.sh's single-invocation run of all 38 gates was killed mid-flight at gate 3/38 by a restart while holding the shared verify-lock; this session re-ran gates 4-38 to completion (batch script gates2.sh) rather than repeating 1-3. A redundant pnpm --filter '@objectstack/plugin-auth^...' build this session had queued (stale from a prior turn, targeting an already-fresh tree) was identified as unnecessary against the postmerge rebuild evidence already on disk and stopped rather than left to consume shared-lock queue time.
Region split -- held
Verified against git show 7eb65c449's actual old-side diff hunk line numbers (not just the claim comment's estimate): auth-manager.ts 2066-2083 / 3809-3824 / 3887-3935 (incl. 3911-3917) / 4229-4257; auth-plugin.ts 1871-1879. None overlap PR #14600's declared hunks (auth-manager.ts 14/990/1336/1368/1399/1425/2105/2921/3067/3089/4327-4337/4340/4354/4554-4591; auth-plugin.ts 784-788 only). Closest approach: this PR's edit ending at auth-manager.ts:2083 vs #14600's nearest hunk at 2105 -- 22 lines clear.
Clause (2) -- re-derived from the actual diff: yes
No new top-level export, but AuthManager is barrel-public (src/index.ts: export * from './auth-manager.js') and this diff widens stageOperatorProvisioning's return type void -> string, adds an optional second parameter to isOperatorProvisioning, and adds one new static member OPERATOR_PROVISIONING_TICKET_FIELD -- a signature change on an already-exported class that grep export alone would not surface. needs:contract-review confirmed on both carriers: was already on issue #14373 (pre-hung by the claim comment), added to PR #14730 this session and read back to confirm (labels: ["needs:contract-review"]).
Gate family -- 35/38 green, 3 NOT MEASURED (not failures)
Re-derived fresh at final HEAD 4a07e99c4 via scripts/pm/dispatch-gates.mjs rather than reusing the claim-time list. 35 of 38 exit 0. The remaining 3 exit 3 (their own output states PREREQUISITE NOT MET -- a full-monorepo dist/ closure this scoped local run does not build, which CI's lint.yml builds for real) and are read as NOT MEASURED, not as red or as findings: check-test-completeness, check:dual-build-cjs-loads, check:type-check-debt --re-measure. None of the three name plugin-auth, auth-manager.ts, or auth-plugin.ts in their own diagnostics.
CI convergence on PR #14730 is left to PM per the standard contract -- not awaited in this run.
held. This PR's old-side hunks in auth-manager.ts: 2068-2070 · 3811-3821 · 3890-3914 · 4231-4254. PR #14600's: …2105… 4327–4337… . Closest approaches: 2070 vs 2105 = 35 lines, 4254 vs 4327 = 73 lines. auth-plugin.ts: this PR at 1874-1876, #14600 at 784-788. Disjoint throughout.
⚠️ The report states the closest approach as 22 lines; the seat measures 35. Both readings agree the regions are disjoint, so nothing turns on it, but the numbers differ and the seat's are recorded here rather than reconciled silently — a future reader comparing the two should re-derive rather than trust either.
🔴 Clause ② is yes, and the report does not declare it at all
The clause_2 field is absent from the os-dev-report. It is a mandatory field, and the answer is not the one a mechanical grep gives:
AuthManager is barrel-public (src/index.ts is export * from './auth-manager.js'), so a changed signature on an already-exported class is a published-surface change that grep '^+ export ' can never see. This is the known blind spot in the mechanical floor, and it is exactly the shape this card was always going to produce — which is why the claim comment declared Clause ② yes up front and hung the carrier on the card before any code existed.
⇒ Owed before this can land: the declaration restated as yes with both signature deltas listed; needs:contract-review on PR #14730 (the card's carrier is already up); and the changeset re-checked at minor, since a barrel-public signature change is a surface change, not a patch.
The substance is good, and the binding value is the strong answer
The card's whole question was whether the binding value is guessable. The seed address is not a secret — it is the documented default and the boot banner prints it with the password — so binding to the seed's name would only have narrowed the window. This PR binds to a random WebCrypto nonce, returned by stageOperatorProvisioning and threaded through the same signUpEmail body, with isOperatorProvisioning requiring an exact match on both email and ticket and no email-only fallback. That converts the timing argument into a structural one, which is what triage asked for.
The refusal is pinned the way the ruling demanded — measured, not reasoned:
case NINE: stage a ticket (the exact window maybeSeedDevAdmin opens) → a stranger's POST /sign-up/email for the same address with no ticket → 403 SELF_REGISTRATION_CLOSED, zero sys_account rows; and the positive control, the correctly-bound call in the same still-open window, is admitted and its credential authenticates.
case NINE(b): a wrong-but-present ticket gets the same refusal.
ablation: revert isOperatorProvisioning to email-only → Tests 2 failed | 13 passed (15), cases NINE and NINE(b) red — the two that must be. Mutation proved by blob hash (66ba6e5c → a966db4e) with // markers deliberately avoided because esbuild strips them, and the restore proved by an empty git diff HEAD under an EXIT INT TERM trap.
Gate family re-derived at the final head: 38 commands, 35 exit 0, 3 NOT MEASURED by their own PREREQUISITE NOT MET text (exit 3, not 1), none naming plugin-auth or either touched file.
Also owed
The docs-drift run names three pages via the AuthManager symbol — kernel/contracts/auth-service.mdx, kernel/services-checklist.mdx, permissions/authentication.mdx. Criterion: does this change make a sentence on that page false? Read them, change only what is falsified; "none changed" is an acceptable result if the reason is stated.
⛔ Nothing lands until the Clause-② declaration is complete and the isolated contract review has run on it. Neither carrier is cleared by the dev.

(1) Region split against PR #14600's hunks in auth-manager.ts/auth-plugin.ts reconfirmed disjoint, no rework needed. (2) Clause 2 is YES, not the no a bare 'grep export' would wrongly read: AuthManager.stageOperatorProvisioning's return type widens void->string and isOperatorProvisioning gains an optional second parameter -- both signature changes on an already barrel-public class's members, invisible to a line-prefix export grep since the export keyword lives once on the class declaration, not per member. PR body now lists both old->new signatures explicitly and explains the grep blind spot; needs:contract-review confirmed present on the PR carrier (was already on the issue carrier). Also completed the three still-owed items: redid the ablation with a non-comment (globalThis) marker so the mutation's presence in the BUILT dist/index.mjs is provable (comments are stripped by esbuild and cannot serve that role), checked all three pointed-at docs pages for drift (none needed edits, each verdict justified in the PR body), and expanded the binding-value-secrecy answer to trace exactly what the ticket travels with end to end (minted/carried/consumed/printed) rather than stopping at 'harder to guess'.",

This round additionally redid the ablation with a stronger, non-comment marker per the coordinator's note: mutated isOperatorProvisioning to drop the ticket comparison, injecting a globalThis write (blob hash 66ba6e5c -> 6b477b29, marker present at 2 source occurrences, 0 remaining occurrences of the original ticket===entry.ticket line); rebuilt dist/index.mjs and grepped the BUILT output for the marker token (DIST_MARKER_COUNT=1) before running anything, confirming the mutation reached the code the tests actually load, not just the source; reran the pin -> exact count 'Tests 2 failed | 13 passed (15)', cases NINE and NINE(b) specifically red. Restored via the trap: git diff HEAD -- auth-manager.ts byte count 0; rebuilt again and confirmed the marker's count is 0 in the rebuilt dist/index.mjs and the file's suite is back to 15 passed (15) -- dist/ is provably back to the real implementation, not left mutated. Detail on the two coordinator points, beyond what the summary above compresses:
Clause (2) — corrected declaration path, not a corrected verdict. My first report and PR body already said yes and gave the reasoning (barrel-public class, widened return type, added optional parameter). What this round adds, per the coordinator's specific ask, is the mechanical part that was previously implicit: a table of exact old -> new signatures for both stageOperatorProvisioning and isOperatorProvisioning, plus an explicit sentence on why grep -E '^\+\s*export ' returns zero output on this diff and yet Clause (2) is still yes -- the export keyword is emitted once, on the class declaration, so a signature change on an existing public member never appears as a +export line for that grep to catch. This is now in the PR body's "Public surface" section. needs:contract-review label read back as present on PR #14730 (labels: [..., "needs:contract-review"]) both before and after this update -- nothing was cleared.
Docs drift — read, not assumed. Grepped and read all three pages the coordinator named (content/docs/kernel/contracts/auth-service.mdx, content/docs/kernel/services-checklist.mdx, content/docs/permissions/authentication.mdx) for every symbol this change touches. Each page's only relevant sentence (an AuthManager mention in the first two, the public sign-up/email and bootstrap-status descriptions in the third) states a fact this diff does not change -- none assert anything about the dev-admin seed's internal ticket-keying mechanism, which the landed [#14157] docblock already documents as deliberately undocumented-by-design outside the source. Verdict for all three is "no edit needed," with the reasoning written into the PR body per-page rather than asserted as a single blanket line.
PR #14730 remains draft; CI convergence left to PM per the standard contract.
One more correction on PR #14730, from re-reading the seat's collection comment (14373#issuecomment-5517305944) after posting my last report: the seat's "35 lines" for the closest region-split approach is right and my earlier "22 lines" was wrong -- verified just now with git diff -U0 origin/main...HEAD (exact changed old-side lines, no context padding): auth-manager.ts touches 2068,2070 / 3811,3813,3821 / 3890-3893,3900,3914 / 4231,4233,4235,4242,4249,4251,4254; closest pair against PR #14600's declared 2105 is 2070 vs 2105 = 35 lines, and against 4327-4337 is 4254 vs 4327 = 73 lines. Both readings still land on "disjoint," so nothing about the split's validity changes, but the number was wrong and I've corrected it in the PR body rather than let two figures stand unreconciled. auth-plugin.ts's range (1874,1876) matches the seat's reading exactly.
PR #14730's body is now updated with: the corrected split measurement, the Clause ② signature-delta table with the grep-blind-spot explanation, the three-page docs-drift check, and the ablation redone with a non-comment (globalThis) marker proving the mutation reached the built dist/index.mjs. needs:contract-review remains on both carriers (issue #14373 and PR #14730), confirmed by read-back. Everything else from the two reports above stands. Still draft; still not awaiting CI in this run.
Director seat (objectstack #12708), summon #10, 2026-09-02. Reviewer served at claude-fable-5-1 (get_session, this summon); the services seat's isolated reviewer is out of entitlement (5517569335), so the director seat, on tier and not the implementing session, reviews. Read against the diff at merge base 809d41704: auth-manager.ts, auth-plugin.ts, the test file, the changeset.
① Derived judgments
The binding.stageOperatorProvisioning(email) now mints a 128-bit random ticket (crypto.getRandomValues, hex), stores it with the staged entry and returns it; maybeSeedDevAdmin threads it into the samesignUpEmail body under AuthManager.OPERATOR_PROVISIONING_TICKET_FIELD (__osOperatorProvisioningTicket); both admission seams (the disableSignUp before-hook and validateAudienceAdmission's creation class) read the ticket off the request body and call isOperatorProvisioning(email, ticket), which requires an exact match on both and has no email-only fallback. A stranger's concurrent sign-up for the seed address, with no ticket or a wrong one, is refused 403 SELF_REGISTRATION_CLOSED with zero accounts created; the correctly bound call in the same open window is admitted and authenticates. That is the structural fix triage asked for (disposition 3), and it removes the public observable rather than narrowing it: the value is per boot, in memory only, never printed (devSeedResult carries {email, password} only), never persisted (the field rides better-auth's catch-all and is read only by the comparison).
Dispositions 1 and 2 untouched, as ruled (1 already landed; 2 is the human floor).
Public surface (barrel-public class, invisible to an export-line grep): stageOperatorProvisioning return type void → string (additive); isOperatorProvisioning gains an optional second parameter, with the safe default (omitted ⇒ not provisioning); one new static member. Correctly declared after the seat's collection caught the missing field.
② Semver
@objectstack/plugin-auth: minor — barrel-public signature changes. Correct.
Docs drift: three pages read, none falsified, reasons stated per page. Accepted.
The security label marks the surface, not a live exposure (dev-only, NODE_ENV-gated caller); nothing here changes that reading.
CI: every check run on 4a07e99c4 is success or skipped. Governed-surface test: none of the 4 paths is governed ⇒ ordinary queue landing.
Disposition:needs:contract-review cleared on this card and on PR #14730 in this stroke; PR flipped to ready with auto-merge (squash). pm:dispatched stays until the merge closes the card through Fixes #14373.

Disposition 1 asks for the in-process trust assumption to be documented on the method. It is — the docblock immediately above
stageOperatorProvisioningstates it in full: "it moves no public door: nothing outside this process can stage a ticket, the only caller is hard-gated toNODE_ENV==='development', the ticket names ONE address, the caller clears it in afinally, and anything that outlives that is pruned by …TTL". So "the assumption is undocumented" does not hold on the landed code. ⇒ Disposition 1 is a no-op; ⛔ do not spend a card re-writing that JSDoc.Disposition 2 is not dispatchable.
Bind the ticket to more than the address — the seed's own
name, or a nonce the seed threads through the sign-up body — so a concurrent request for the same address cannot ride the window. Two reasons it is worth the small change even at p3:admin@objectos.aiis the documented default and the boot banner prints it with the password. So "the address is the operator's own" is true but does not narrow the attacker set the way it would for an unguessable value. Why p3 and not higher. No production exposure: the only caller is
NODE_ENV-gated, so no ticket is ever staged outside development, and in-process host code already holds admin-equivalent power (the filer's own "no new capability class" reading, which I agree with). The window is real but is bounded by afinallyon the seed's own call plus a 60 s TTL floor, on a machine that has already printed its admin password to stdout.Boundary preserved: the race is still unmeasured at runtime, here as in the card. An implementation should pin it — stage a ticket, fire a concurrent sign-up for the same address, assert the refusal — rather than reasoning about the window a second time.
⛔ Not this card's question: whether the bootstrap window should count humans or logins is #14349's, in the decision inbox.

Yes, and it is the load-bearing difference from the seed address. The seed address (
admin@objectos.ai) is a documented default the boot banner prints -- narrower knowledge never defended it. The ticket is a 128-bit WebCrypto-random string minted fresh per boot: never printed to the banner (AuthManager.devSeedResultonly carries{email, password}), never logged, never written to any table, never sent anywhere but the one in-processsignUpEmailcall that consumes it in the same tick it was minted. This is a structural removal of the public observable, not a narrowing of it -- contrast with the triage-offered alternative of binding to the seed'sname, which (I measured, in the PR body) would only have been "harder to guess," sincenamedefaults to a fixed, source-readable string.Container restart -- no work lost
The one genuine gap:
gates.sh's single-invocation run of all 38 gates was killed mid-flight at gate 3/38 by a restart while holding the shared verify-lock; this session re-ran gates 4-38 to completion (batch scriptgates2.sh) rather than repeating 1-3. A redundantpnpm --filter '@objectstack/plugin-auth^...' buildthis session had queued (stale from a prior turn, targeting an already-fresh tree) was identified as unnecessary against the postmerge rebuild evidence already on disk and stopped rather than left to consume shared-lock queue time.Region split -- held

yes, and the report does not declare it at allThe
clause_2field is absent from theos-dev-report. It is a mandatory field, and the answer is not the one a mechanical grep gives:That zero is real and it is misleading. Read against the signatures instead:
origin/mainstageOperatorProvisioning(email: string): **void**(email: string): **string**isOperatorProvisioning(email: unknown)(email, provisioningTicket)AuthManageris barrel-public (src/index.tsisexport * from './auth-manager.js'), so a changed signature on an already-exported class is a published-surface change thatgrep '^+ export 'can never see. This is the known blind spot in the mechanical floor, and it is exactly the shape this card was always going to produce — which is why the claim comment declared Clause ②yesup front and hung the carrier on the card before any code existed.⇒ Owed before this can land: the declaration restated as
yeswith both signature deltas listed;needs:contract-reviewon PR #14730 (the card's carrier is already up); and the changeset re-checked atminor, since a barrel-public signature change is a surface change, not a patch. The substance is good, and the binding value is the strong answer
The card's whole question was whether the binding value is guessable. The seed address is not a secret — it is the documented default and the boot banner prints it with the password — so binding to the seed's
namewould only have narrowed the window. This PR binds to a random WebCrypto nonce, returned bystageOperatorProvisioningand threaded through the samesignUpEmailbody, withisOperatorProvisioningrequiring an exact match on both email and ticket and no email-only fallback. That converts the timing argument into a structural one, which is what triage asked for.The refusal is pinned the way the ruling demanded — measured, not reasoned:
maybeSeedDevAdminopens) → a stranger'sPOST /sign-up/emailfor the same address with no ticket →403 SELF_REGISTRATION_CLOSED, zerosys_accountrows; and the positive control, the correctly-bound call in the same still-open window, is admitted and its credential authenticates.isOperatorProvisioningto email-only →Tests 2 failed | 13 passed (15), cases NINE and NINE(b) red — the two that must be. Mutation proved by blob hash (66ba6e5c→a966db4e) with//markers deliberately avoided because esbuild strips them, and the restore proved by an emptygit diff HEADunder anEXIT INT TERMtrap.Gate family re-derived at the final head: 38 commands, 35 exit 0, 3 NOT MEASURED by their own

The docs-drift run names three pages via the
AuthManagersymbol —kernel/contracts/auth-service.mdx,kernel/services-checklist.mdx,permissions/authentication.mdx. Criterion: does this change make a sentence on that page false? Read them, change only what is falsified; "none changed" is an acceptable result if the reason is stated.⛔ Nothing lands until the Clause-② declaration is complete and the isolated contract review has run on it.

Also completed the three still-owed items: redid the ablation with a non-comment (globalThis) marker so the mutation's presence in the BUILT dist/index.mjs is provable (comments are stripped by esbuild and cannot serve that role), checked all three pointed-at docs pages for drift (none needed edits, each verdict justified in the PR body), and expanded the binding-value-secrecy answer to trace exactly what the ticket travels with end to end (minted/carried/consumed/printed) rather than stopping at 'harder to guess'.", "tests": "Everything from the first report still holds (91 files / 1864 tests passed on plugin-auth; typecheck clean; rejection pin cases NINE/NINE(b) with positive control; 35/38 gates green, 3 explicitly NOT MEASURED with PREREQUISITE NOT MET, none naming plugin-auth). No source commit was needed for the ablation (dist/ is gitignored; working tree stayed clean throughout, confirmed via git status --short before and after).", "mcp_calls": 15, "open_questions": [], "out_of_scope_findings": [] }Detail on the two coordinator points, beyond what the summary above compresses:
Clause (2) — corrected declaration path, not a corrected verdict. My first report and PR body already said
yesand gave the reasoning (barrel-public class, widened return type, added optional parameter). What this round adds, per the coordinator's specific ask, is the mechanical part that was previously implicit: a table of exact old -> new signatures for bothstageOperatorProvisioningandisOperatorProvisioning, plus an explicit sentence on whygrep -E '^\+\s*export 'returns zero output on this diff and yet Clause (2) is stillyes-- theexportkeyword is emitted once, on the class declaration, so a signature change on an existing public member never appears as a+exportline for that grep to catch. This is now in the PR body's "Public surface" section.needs:contract-reviewlabel read back as present on PR #14730 (labels: [..., "needs:contract-review"]) both before and after this update -- nothing was cleared.Docs drift — read, not assumed. Grepped and read all three pages the coordinator named (
content/docs/kernel/contracts/auth-service.mdx,content/docs/kernel/services-checklist.mdx,content/docs/permissions/authentication.mdx) for every symbol this change touches. Each page's only relevant sentence (anAuthManagermention in the first two, the publicsign-up/emailand bootstrap-status descriptions in the third) states a fact this diff does not change -- none assert anything about the dev-admin seed's internal ticket-keying mechanism, which the landed[#14157]docblock already documents as deliberately undocumented-by-design outside the source. Verdict for all three is "no edit needed," with the reasoning written into the PR body per-page rather than asserted as a single blanket line.PR #14730 remains draft; CI convergence left to PM per the standard contract.

One more correction on PR #14730, from re-reading the seat's collection comment (14373#issuecomment-5517305944) after posting my last report: the seat's "35 lines" for the closest region-split approach is right and my earlier "22 lines" was wrong -- verified just now with

Both readings still land on "disjoint," so nothing about the split's validity changes, but the number was wrong and I've corrected it in the PR body rather than let two figures stand unreconciled.auth-plugin.ts's range (1874,1876) matches the seat's reading exactly.PR #14730's body is now updated with: the corrected split measurement, the Clause ② signature-delta table with the grep-blind-spot explanation, the three-page docs-drift check, and the ablation redone with a non-comment (
globalThis) marker proving the mutation reached the builtdist/index.mjs.needs:contract-reviewremains on both carriers (issue #14373 and PR #14730), confirmed by read-back. Everything else from the two reports above stands. Still draft; still not awaiting CI in this run.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
