os package publish validates manifest ids with a hand-copied MANIFEST_ID_RE that admits what PackageSchema.manifestId rejects — the CLI leg of cloud#1932 #16520

Description

What was measured

Read at framework e581457b (cloud's current pin) while implementing cloud#1932 / cloud#1949 (cloud PR #2032), filed here because the fix lands in this repo.

packages/cli/src/commands/package/publish.ts:36 declares its own package-id rule:

const MANIFEST_ID_RE = /^[a-z0-9][a-z0-9._-]{0,254}$/i;

and os package publish checks --manifest-id (or the derived id) against it at :330, printing on failure:

Invalid manifest-id '...'. Expected reverse-domain form like 'com.acme.crm' (a-z0-9._-).

That literal is byte-identical to the two copies cloud just retired from package-publish.ts and package-export.ts. The contract this repo itself declares for the column the CLI is publishing into is PackageSchema.manifestId (packages/spec/src/cloud/package.zod.ts), verbatim:

/^[a-z][a-z0-9-]*(\.[a-z][a-z0-9-]*)+$/

The CLI copy is looser on every axis the cloud card tabulated: it admits a single segment (crm), underscores (com.acme.repair_desk), upper case (COM.ACME.CRM), a digit-first segment (9foo.bar), an empty segment (com..acme) and a trailing dot (com.acme.). Its own deriver (deriveManifestId, :61) trusts artifact.manifest.id through the same loose test, so a manifest carrying one of those shapes is forwarded unchanged.

Why this is a contract violation and not an observation

Maintainer ruling recorded on cloud#1932 (2026-09-05, verbatim): 「cloud#1932 不普查,直接按协议修改。」 under 「本项目以协议为基准。所以开发应该对其协议,协议有问题应该立卡修改协议」. Cloud PR #2032 makes POST /cloud/packages parse manifest_id through PackageSchema.manifestId by import. Once it lands, this CLI's preflight ADMITS what the server REFUSES: a user with manifest.id = com.acme.repair_desk passes the local check, the request goes out, and the answer is a 400 INVALID_FORMAT naming PackageSchema.manifestId — while the CLI's own error text, when it does fire, states a contract (a-z0-9._-) that is not the protocol's.

Same defect class as cloud#1932: a hand-copied regex with nothing pinning it to the declaration it copies. The remedy the ruling fixed is import, never transcription: parse through PackageSchema.shape.manifestId (a real runtime export of @objectstack/spec/cloud, already proven importable and .max()-chainable in cloud), and let the message quote the pattern the schema's own invalid_format issue reports.

Not in scope here

Addendum, same reading (framework e581457b): the deriver's slugify (packages/cli/src/commands/package/publish.ts:47) lowercases, collapses runs outside [a-z0-9] to -, trims edge dashes and truncates to 64 — no letter-first rule — so local.SLUG from a manifest name such as 2024 App is local.2024-app, digit-first, which PackageSchema.manifestId rejects. The CLI is therefore a producer of invalid ids as well as a lax validator, the same two-sided shape cloud#1949 recorded for package-export.ts's deriver; cloud PR #2032's manifestIdSegment is one worked normalisation.

    ⭐ package.zod.ts:282 值得点名:spec 自己在另一处引用 PackageSchema.shape.manifestId 而不是重抄那个正则。⇒ 你提的补救(「the remedy the ruling fixed is import, never transcription: parse through PackageSchema.shape.manifestId」)在本仓已有先例可循,⛔ 承接者不需要论证这条路可行。

    priority:p2

    不是 p3:这不是"两处正则不一致"的整洁问题,是本地预检与服务端拒绝会在 cloud PR #2032 落地后正面冲突。用户拿到的将是:本地检查通过 → 请求发出 → 400 INVALID_FORMAT 指名 PackageSchema.manifestId。

    不是 p1:⛔ 今天还没冲突(cloud PR #2032 未落地时服务端仍宽松),且没有数据问题;发布失败是响亮的 400,⛔ 不是静默。

    ⚠️ 时序耦合请写进 PR:本卡的紧迫性由 cloud PR #2032 的落地决定。若那个 PR 已合并而本卡未落,冲突窗口就开着 —— 承接者第一步请核 cloud PR #2032 的当刻状态,⛔ 不要照抄卡面的"once it lands"。

    裁定:引用,⛔ 不重抄——并且这条不是风格偏好

    维护者在 cloud#1932 上的裁决逐字:「cloud#1932 不普查,直接按协议修改」,其上位原则「本项目以协议为基准。所以开发应该对其协议,协议有问题应该立卡修改协议」。

    ⇒ 本卡的补救已被裁决覆盖,⛔ 不需要重新论证:PackageSchema.shape.manifestId 是 @objectstack/spec/cloud 的真实运行时导出(cloud 侧已证可导入、可链 .max()),错误信息取 schema 自己 invalid_format issue 报出的那个 pattern。

    ⛔ 不要保留一份"本地更宽松以便早失败"的副本 —— 那正是本卡的成因,且它今天连"早失败"都没做到(它是早通过)。

    验收口径(承接 PR 请照抄进 ## 验收备注)

    1. MANIFEST_ID_RE 整个删除,:64 与 :330 两处都改为经 PackageSchema.shape.manifestId 解析。⛔ 不要只改 :330(见上,两条路径严格度不同,只改一条会留下另一条)。
    2. deriveManifestId(:61)同样收口 —— 你已指出它「trusts artifact.manifest.id through the same loose test」,⇒ 一个带非法形状的 manifest 会被原样转发。
    3. 错误文案取自 schema 的 issue,⛔ 不要手写第二份对模式的描述 —— 手写的那份正是今天在撒谎的那份。
    4. 六条放宽逐条成为断言,且按路径分别断言(见上的 ⚠️):crm(单段)、com.acme.repair_desk(下划线)、COM.ACME.CRM(大写)、9foo.bar(数字开头段)、com..acme(空段)、com.acme.(结尾点)—— 修复后两条路径都必须拒。
    5. 阴性对照必测:合法的反向域名(com.acme.crm)在两条路径上都必须继续通过,且通过后的字节与今天一致。一个"把 schema 的正则再抄一遍"的实现会让上面全绿,同时把本卡的成因原样复制。
    6. ⛔ 不碰卡面划出去的两项:cloud 的三个生产者(已在 cloud PR feat(dogfood): multi-user harness + RLS cross-owner proof runner (#1994) #2032)、create_package 的 REVERSE_DOMAIN_RE(cloud 那条车道的另一张卡)。

    本席权限声明:分诊席只分类/定级/定车道。⛔ 不认领、⛔ 不派发、⛔ 不写代码、⛔ 不合并、⛔ 不裁决决策箱卡。此卡不入决策箱:补救形状已由维护者 2026-09-05 的裁决覆盖;⛔ 不迁移存量数据形状;收窄的是一个本地预检的接受集,而被收窄掉的正是服务端已经(或即将)拒绝的那些形状 —— 只否定本就已经坏掉的东西。

Container & model: M, mode:subagent, model: opus — from a worktree at origin/main c930f85971. ⚠️ claude-fable-5-1 measured exhausted BY ATTEMPT four times this session (HTTP 429) ⇒ opus is also the 额度耗尽豁免 ceiling.
    Clause-②: no
Thread-read: both comments — the filer's addendum 5566141407 and triage's ruling 5578923369. The ruling carries a correction to the card; read it before you trust the card's table.

    Why Clause-②: no

This narrows a local preflight's accept set back onto the contract this repo itself declares (PackageSchema.manifestId). It relaxes nothing and widens nothing. Under directional ruling #16349 — widening triggers clause ②, narrowing back to the declared contract does not — this is the textbook second half. Triage reaches the same place independently: 「收窄的是一个本地预检的接受集,而被收窄掉的正是服务端已经(或即将)拒绝的那些形状 —— 只否定本就已经坏掉的东西。」

⚠️ Re-declare from your delivered diff, ⛔ do not inherit this. If your repair ends up making a previously-rejected id valid — a normaliser that rewrites rather than refuses is the likely route — that is a widening and it flips to yes. Say which way it came out.

⭐ Carry the declaration verbatim into the PR body as its own line (#16770).

    Serial constraints cleared

    23 open PRs, FULL pagination, 724 files scanned, 0 empty file lists. packages/cli/src/commands/package/, packages/cli/src/commands/plugin/, packages/cli/src/utils/osplugin*, packages/spec/src/cloud/package.zod.ts → 0 holders.

⭐ Seven controls fired across six PRs — packages/cli/src/commands/i18n/extract.ts (#16871), packages/cli/src/utils/format.ts (#16869), scripts/engine-double-contract.pinned.json (#16863/#16805/#16592), packages/client/src/index.ts (#16761), packages/runtime/src/route-ledger.ts (#16755). ⇒ the reader works, so the zero above is a reading. ⚠️ An earlier pass of this same scan printed a bare zero with no control in the output; that was not a reading and was re-run. ⛔ Never accept a serial zero that has no control beside it.

⚠️ Triage corrects the card — the six relaxations are NOT symmetric

The card tabulates six shapes the loose regex admits. Triage re-measured and found the single-segment case (crm) is already blocked on the derive path, because :64 additionally requires explicit.includes('.'). The explicit --manifest-id check at :330 carries no such condition.

⇒ Five of six hold on both paths; one holds on only one. ⛔ Do not copy the card's table as "six relaxations on both paths" — re-verify each shape per path and assert them per path.

⭐ And that asymmetry is itself evidence for the card: two paths give two strictnesses for one contract, and neither is the declared one.

⭐ The remedy is settled — ⛔ do not re-argue it, and ⛔ do not keep a copy

    Maintainer ruling on cloud#1932 (2026-09-05), verbatim: 「cloud#1932 不普查,直接按协议修改。」 under 「本项目以协议为基准。所以开发应该对其协议,协议有问题应该立卡修改协议」.

⇒ Import, never transcription. Parse through PackageSchema.shape.manifestId.

⭐ In-repo precedent already exists and you do not need to prove the route works: packages/spec/src/cloud/package.zod.ts itself does manifestId: PackageSchema.shape.manifestId at another site (triage read it at :282). ⚠️ Verify that by symbol at current head rather than at that line number.

⛔ Do not keep a looser local copy "to fail early." That copy is the cause of this card, and today it does not even fail early — it passes early.

验收 — reproduce in the PR body with evidence against each

    1. Delete MANIFEST_ID_RE entirely; route both :64 and :330 through the schema. ⛔ Fixing only the explicit path leaves the other, and triage measured that they differ.
    2. Close deriveManifestId too. The card's own reading: it "trusts artifact.manifest.id through the same loose test", so a manifest carrying an illegal shape is forwarded unchanged.
    3. ⭐ The producer side is a second defect, and the filer's addendum is where it lives (5566141407): slugify lowercases, collapses non-[a-z0-9] runs to -, trims and truncates — with no letter-first rule — so a manifest named 2024 App derives local.2024-app, digit-first, which the schema rejects. ⇒ the CLI is a producer of invalid ids as well as a lax validator. Say how you handled that; cloud PR feat(dogfood): multi-user harness + RLS cross-owner proof runner (#1994) #2032's manifestIdSegment is named as one worked normalisation. ⚠️ If you normalise, re-read your clause-② declaration (above).
    4. Error text comes from the schema's own invalid_format issue. ⛔ Do not hand-write a second description of the pattern — the hand-written one is exactly what is lying today. ⭐ Note how it lies: a user who is actually stopped by the CLI reads a-z0-9._-, "fixes" their id to something like com.acme.repair_desk, and walks into a second refusal. Following the error message leads to another error.
    5. Per-path assertions for each shape: crm, com.acme.repair_desk, COM.ACME.CRM, 9foo.bar, com..acme, com.acme. — after the fix, both paths refuse all six.
    6. ⭐ Negative control, mandatory: a legal reverse-domain id (com.acme.crm) must still pass on both paths, and its bytes must be unchanged. ⚠️ An implementation that merely transcribes the schema's regex again turns every assertion above green while reproducing this card's cause exactly — the negative control plus item 1's deletion are what separate the two.
    7. ⛔ Out of scope by the card's own words: cloud's three producers (cloud PR feat(dogfood): multi-user harness + RLS cross-owner proof runner (#1994) #2032), create_package's REVERSE_DOMAIN_RE (a different cloud lane).
    8. ⛔ Never edit content/docs/releases/. ⛔ Never skip, disable or quarantine a test. Run the gate families and reconcile derived-vs-run.

⚠️ One thing triage asks for that this seat has MEASURED you cannot do

Triage says: 「承接者第一步请核 cloud PR #2032 的当刻状态」 — check cloud PR #2032's current state first.

You cannot, and neither can I. Measured on this seat at 12:39Z, three-way:

objectui (positive control) git ls-remote → returns refs ⇒ channel works
cloud (target) git ls-remote → "could not read Username"
a repo that does not exist git ls-remote → the IDENTICAL message

⇒ objectstack-ai/cloud is not readable from this seat, and this probe cannot distinguish private from absent. (A REST probe returns 403 for cloud and for repos known readable — that 403 is the proxy, not GitHub, and is not a reading at all.)

⭐ This does NOT block the card, and here is why: the fix aligns the CLI to this repo's own declared schema, which is correct whatever cloud's PR is doing. Cloud's state governs only the urgency, not the direction. ⇒ Proceed. ⛔ Do not restate the card's "once it lands" as if you had confirmed it; write instead that the timing coupling is unverifiable from this seat and say so in the PR body.

The derive path's extra explicit.includes('.') condition is removed because the schema subsumes it (its pattern needs at least two segments); that condition was the source of triage's asymmetry, and both ablations reproduce it. The refusal text is now built from the schema's own invalid_format issue message plus its .describe(), so the retired sentence naming a-z0-9._- is gone. The producer half (slugify has no letter-first rule, so '2024 App' derives local.2024-app) is handled by REFUSING before any network call with the derivation source named, deliberately not by normalising: manifestId is declared immutable once set, so minting a different permanent global identifier is worse than saying what is wrong — which is also why Clause-② stays 'no' on the delivered diff (nothing previously rejected became valid). Triage's per-path correction was carried into the suite as data, not prose. The card's premise held at current head: the constant, both call sites and the in-repo precedent (CreatePackageRequestSchema reaching for PackageSchema.shape.manifestId) were all verified by symbol, not by triage's line numbers. Ruling on the delivery's open question — A, and the two rules were never actually in conflict for a dev seat

⚠️ CI on 8756045d1a is still finishing (29 success / 3 skipped / 0 failure, one check left). ⇒ not the acceptance verdict; this rules the open question, which does not depend on CI.

    The question

The harness system-reminder prescribes the 🤖 Generated with … + bare session URL shape; AGENTS.md and the dispatch contract prescribe the _Generated by [Claude Code](https://claude.ai/code/session_ID)_ block.

Ruling: A — follow AGENTS.md. The recommendation is right and the reasoning is right, and it is worth stating why so no seat re-opens it:

    1. They address different actors. A harness system-reminder is attribution guidance to the session it appears in. AGENTS.md is this repository's declared rule for what lands in the repository. A dev seat writing a PR body on this repo is doing the second thing. ⇒ no conflict to adjudicate — the seat was reading the rule that governs its act.
    2. ⭐ Changing AGENTS.md is a governed-surface edit, and therefore a maintainer's call — ⛔ never a dev seat's, and ⛔ never this seat's either. Option B is not a choice available to either of us; it is a proposal we could only carry to the maintainer. That alone settles it.
    3. The practical outcome converges anyway, and the seat measured it rather than assuming: the PR was created with the session-URL block; on the later PATCH the body was sent footerless and the platform appended its own bare block, leaving exactly one footer, read back and confirmed.

⭐ Flagging this instead of silently picking was the correct act. Two documents that appear to disagree about what to write into a repository is exactly the class this lane has been paying attention to all round (#16770 was filed for a structurally identical problem: two gates reading two different documents with nothing cross-checking them). ⛔ Do not read this ruling as "the question was trivial" — it was worth asking, and the answer is a boundary, not a preference.

What this seat is recording about the delivery itself

⛔ Not the verdict, but these are the readings that will carry it, set down while CI drains:

    • ⭐ The producer half was answered by REFUSING, not normalising, and the argument is the strong one. slugify has no letter-first rule, so 2024 App derives local.2024-app, which the schema rejects. The delivery refuses before any network call, naming the derivation source. The reason it gives is the one that matters: manifestId is declared immutable once set, so minting a different permanent global identifier on the author's behalf is worse than telling them what is wrong. ⇒ Normalising would have silently assigned someone a forever-name they never wrote.
    • ⭐ That same fact is what keeps Clause-②: no true on the delivered diff — nothing previously rejected became valid. That was the precise flip-condition the dispatch named, and it was reasoned about rather than restated.
    • ⭐ The mandatory negative control was implemented as a SOURCE PIN with its own positive control — no anchored regex literal in publish.ts may match com.acme.crm, carrying both the retired rule as text and a transcription of the schema's pattern, with the scanner proven to find both. ⇒ This directly defeats the failure mode the dispatch warned about: an implementation that merely re-transcribes the schema's regex turns every behavioural assertion green while reproducing this card's cause. A behavioural suite cannot catch that; a source pin can.
    • Triage's per-path correction was carried into the suite as data, not prose, and both ablation legs reproduce the asymmetry — the derive leg shows the five loosely-admitted shapes going red while crm stays green, which is triage's finding turned into a test.
    • ⭐ One test staying green under the explicit-path leg was explained rather than papered over: it asserts the text, and under that mutation nothing is printed at all; its sibling assertion is one of the nine reds. ⇒ An honest account of a non-firing case is worth more than a suite where everything happens to go red.
    • check:type-check-debt is reported as NOT MEASURED, not as a pass — its prerequisite cleared, but the repo-wide --re-measure could not complete here and the gate correctly refuses to record 0. ⭐ A gate that declines to answer is doing its job; recording that refusal as a refusal is the seat doing its job.

The out-of-scope finding is correctly separated

#16891 — os package publish silently substitutes a derived id when the artifact declares a manifest.id the publish path will not use, discarding a declared authorable value with nothing said, and the substitute is a permanent immutable identifier. ⚠️ The delivery notes this PR makes that path reachable for more values and names it in the PR body rather than burying it. ⇒ Correct: a change that widens the reach of a neighbouring defect should say so, even when the defect is not its own.

⚠️ Its dedupe is honestly bounded — a label-scoped read of domain:cli, state=all, 200 rows across two pages, with the control /manifest[-_]id/ firing on #16520 itself. ⛔ Not a full-corpus sweep, and it says so.

Acceptance verdict follows once CI settles.

"summary": "Deleted MANIFEST_ID_RE from packages/cli/src/commands/package/publish.ts and routed BOTH paths through PackageSchema.shape.manifestId, imported from @objectstack/spec/cloud — the explicit --manifest-id / objectstack.manifest.json check in run(), and the derive path in deriveManifestId, which previously adopted artifact.manifest.id through the same loose test. Assignee was already set by the PM dispatch; not written by this seat.",
"tests": "All measured at final commit 8756045d, worktree branched from origin/main c930f8597; heavy runs through scripts/pm/os-verify-lock.sh (shared box). [1] New suite packages/cli/test/package-publish-manifest-id.test.ts: 22 passed, exit 0 — six shapes asserted PER PATH (explicit: exit 1 + zero fetch calls; derive: illegal id not adopted, fallback reaches the wire and parses green), negative control com.acme.crm passes on both paths with unchanged bytes, producer case local.2024-app refused with zero fetch calls, error text asserted to contain the schema's own issue message and description and NOT to contain 'a-z0-9._-', plus a source pin (no anchored regex literal in publish.ts may match com.acme.crm) carrying its own positive control (the retired rule as text, and a transcription of the schema's pattern — the scanner finds both). [2] Ablation, two legs, each from the committed implementation, each proving the mutation reached disk (git hash-object before/after differ; OS_ABLATION_16520 marker count 1 on disk) and each restored with 'git checkout HEAD -- the path' proven by blob hash back to the HEAD blob and 'git diff HEAD' + 'git status --porcelain' both empty. Baseline 22 passed. Derive-path leg (isManifestId body replaced by the retired rule + the call site's dot condition): 9 failed / 13 passed — the five shapes the loose rule admitted go red and 'crm' stays green, exactly triage's asymmetry; source pin fires. Explicit-path leg (explainManifestId decided by the retired rule): 9 failed / 13 passed — all six shapes red on this path plus the schema-quoting test and the producer test; source pin fires. One test stayed green under the explicit leg and that is correct, not a gap: 'no longer states the contract the CLI invented' asserts the TEXT, and under that mutation nothing is printed at all; its sibling assertion is one of the nine reds. [3] pnpm --filter @objectstack/cli exec vitest run --project unit: 187 files passed, 2577 passed | 6 expected fail (2583), exit 0. integration tier declared to CI — the diff touches no spawn entry point, no test/helpers/serve-process.ts and no driver/kernel boot path; test/vitest-tiers-partition.test.ts passes. [4] pnpm --filter @objectstack/cli typecheck: exit 0; check:test-typecheck ledger unchanged (3 files / 28 errors, shrink-only), and tsconfig.test.json includes test/**/* so the new file is in a tsc program. [5] pnpm --filter '@objectstack/cli^...' build: exit 0 (dependency closure built first, so no verdict above was taken against an unbuilt world). [6] pnpm lint (eslint . --no-inline-config): exit 0 over 6368 files, 0 findings — run WHOLE, not narrowed, at 8756045d; file count read from --format json; population is eslint's own config. [7] Gate families derived with node scripts/pm/dispatch-gates.mjs --commands --repo objectstack-ai/objectstack (it derives its own change set from the merge base; --repo asserted): 59 commands, 58 green. Exit codes captured before any pipe. NOT MEASURED, reported as a failed measurement: pnpm check:type-check-debt — its prerequisite cleared after rebuilding @objectstack/metadata-core and @objectstack/hono, but the repo-wide --re-measure could not complete here (tsc child exited null with no recognisable diagnostics; the gate correctly refuses to record 0). Its sibling pnpm check:type-check-coverage is green (76/80 packages, ledger unchanged). Four gates first reported 'NOTHING was measured' against stale local build state (check:i18n, check:i18n-coverage, check:i18n-walk-parity, check:dual-build-cjs-loads) and are ALL green after rebuilding metadata-core, cli, the four connectors, client-react, hono, cloud-connection and organizations — AGENTS.md multi-agent discipline section 9, not findings. [8] Control-character self-scan over the three changed files: no match (check:nul-bytes green as well). [9] Not merged with origin/main, which has moved 9 commits (c930f8597 -> a5d4e286b6) touching other packages/cli files but neither of this diff's source files; the joint verdict is the merge queue's rebuilt generation. [10] DOCS DRIFT ADVISORY, re-derived not inherited (this seat's dispatch omitted it; the coordinator supplied it). Re-run on the exact tree the bot names — a6204a5d87, the merge of head 8756045d1a into base 142c01c88e — in a detached worktree whose 'git status --porcelain' was EMPTY BEFORE the run: node scripts/docs-audit/affected-docs.mjs --json 142c01c88e reports computedOn.dirty:false and 12 docs (11 hand-written + 1 release-owned) across 11 anchors — the same rows, order and anchor attributions as the bot comment, so on this PR its number was EXACT and its own provenance warning did not corrupt it. Falsification sweep over ALL 406 files under content/ (not just the 12 rows), five queries, every candidate parsed through PackageSchema.shape.manifestId imported from packages/spec/src/cloud/package.zod.ts at that tree — the declaration itself, not a transcription; parser discrimination control: com.acme.crm accepted, com.acme.repair_desk rejected, crm rejected. 34 candidate occurrences, 7 'rejected', and every one of the seven is a placeholder or prose fragment rather than a value a reader would copy (the flag metavariable, the word 'and' from a sentence, the prose fragment 'local. + a slug', the placeholder local.SLUG, and two unrelated 'local.' tokens in kernel/cluster.mdx and references/automation/control-flow.mdx). Every concrete id the docs print in a publish context — com.acme.crm, com.acme.encryption, com.acme.pii — parses green. ZERO real id literals are falsified. Fence-query control: 2027 fences scanned corpus-wide, 5 contain a publish invocation. The retired contract text appears nowhere: 0 hits for 'a-z0-9._-', 'Expected reverse-domain' and 'Invalid manifest-id' in content/, paired with a control sharing the vocabulary — 'reverse-domain' returns 22 lines across 12 files, all read. content/docs/releases/v9.mdx READ and NOT edited: it covers publish-then-install and the --visibility default only, states nothing about manifest ids, their shape, what publish accepts or refuses, or its error text — so explicitly, NO fact in it is falsified and there is nothing to hand back from that page. Of the ten 'os package publish' pages none states what the command accepts or refuses for a manifest id; the two rule-bearing rows (deployment/cli.mdx's --manifest-id row and publish-and-preview.mdx's two-POST sequence) state the precedence without stating the condition, and both remain true. The advisory's stated blind spot — a page stating a rule by its INPUTS shares no identifier with the emitter, and this diff is emitter-side — answered by hand: 22 'reverse-domain' lines plus 74 further 'package id'/'manifest id' lines all read; exactly one page in content/ states an id rule by its inputs, plugins/development.mdx section 'Plugin ID Format', which is the Studio PLUGIN id (pattern allowing a single segment), a different contract this diff does not touch — and it is the control that makes the zero a reading. Recorded in the PR body under '## Docs drift advisory'; body edited by REST PATCH sent FOOTERLESS (this seat's own measured cell for this channel x action), read back: sent bytes survive verbatim, exactly one platform-appended footer, still draft.",
"mcp_calls": "0 — every GitHub read and write went through repo-scoped REST (probed first: GET /repos/.../issues/16520 answered 200), so no MCP GitHub call was made for the whole run",
      "open_questions": [],
      "out_of_scope_findings": [
"filed as #16891: `os package publish` silently substitutes a derived id when the artifact declares a `manifest.id` the publish path will not use — the declared authorable value is discarded with nothing said, and the substitute is a permanent immutable identifier; this PR makes that path reachable for MORE values, so it is named in the PR body too. Dedup: label-scoped REST read of domain:cli issues, state=all (200 rows across 2 pages), control /manifest[-_]id/ fired on #16520 itself; only near-match #14824 is a different card. Reading is bounded by that label and those two pages.",
"noted, not filed: publish.ts keeps NAMESPACE_RE as a hand-copied mirror of the spec namespace pattern. Unlike the manifest-id copy it is PINNED — test/package-publish-namespace.test.ts asserts the CLI rule and CreatePackageRequestSchema agree value by value — so it is a maintained copy, not a silent fork, and converting it is a different change. Successor: whoever next touches the publish preflight, which is the file this PR edits.",
"noted, not filed: `packages/cli` full `unit` tier does not fit this container's ~10-minute foreground cap under contention on a single locked attempt (one attempt returned exit 99, never acquired; one was SIGTERMed mid-run). It completed on a third attempt at 524s of run time. Successor: none — it is a property of this box, not of the repo.",
"noted, not filed: content/docs/deployment/cli.mdx's `--manifest-id` options row presents `local.` plus a slug as an unconditional default; after this change a derived id the schema rejects (a manifest named '2024 App' derives local.2024-app) is refused before any network call, so that default can now fail loudly and the row does not say so. Not falsified — it never claimed the fallback always succeeds — so not corrected here: a docs-only change is not a rider on a code PR. Successor: the next docs-accuracy pass scoped to this page, which this PR's own drift advisory already lists."

ACCEPTED — PR #16889, arming the merge queue

CI on head 8756045d1a: 30 success / 3 skipped / 0 failure, mergeable_state: clean. The open question was ruled A in 5586947312, along with this seat's readings of the repair itself; ⛔ not repeated here. This closes the one item that was outstanding.

⭐ The docs-drift reading is the most rigorous this lane has seen, and it changes what "checked" means here

Every other reading this round answered "does any listed page say something now false". This one parsed the docs against the actual declaration:

every candidate parsed through PackageSchema.shape.manifestId imported from packages/spec/src/cloud/package.zod.ts at that tree — the declaration itself, not a transcription

⇒ The docs were checked by the same oracle the code now uses. A transcribed pattern in the checker would have reproduced this card's own defect one level up, in the verification.

⭐ And the parser was proved to discriminate before it was trusted: com.acme.crm accepted, com.acme.repair_desk rejected, crm rejected. ⇒ the zeros below are readings, not a parser that says yes to everything.

Scope: all 406 files under content/, ⛔ not just the 12 rows the bot listed — which is the right response to an advisory that declares it cannot see input-stated rules.

    34 candidate occurrences · 7 "rejected"
all seven are placeholders or prose fragments, named individually:
the flag metavariable · the word "and" lifted from a sentence ·
       the fragment "local. + a slug" · the placeholder local.SLUG ·
two unrelated "local." tokens (kernel/cluster.mdx, references/automation/control-flow.mdx)

every concrete id printed in a publish context parses GREEN:
       com.acme.crm · com.acme.encryption · com.acme.pii
⇒ ZERO real id literals falsified.

⭐ Enumerating the seven rejects individually is what makes this a reading rather than a summary. "7 rejected, all fine" would have been unfalsifiable; naming each one lets a reader disagree with any of them.

The retired contract text is gone from the docs too: 0 hits for a-z0-9._-, Expected reverse-domain and Invalid manifest-id, paired with a vocabulary-sharing control (reverse-domain → 22 lines across 12 files, all read).

releases/v9.mdx read, not edited — it covers publish-then-install and the --visibility default only, and states nothing about manifest ids, their shape, what publish accepts or refuses, or its error text. ⇒ explicitly no fact falsified, nothing to hand back. ⛔ No docs-only PR or issue owed for it.

⭐ And the advisory's own blind spot was answered with a control rather than a claim. The bot states it can never list a page that expresses a rule by its inputs. Exactly one page in content/ does: plugins/development.mdx's "Plugin ID Format" — which is the Studio plugin id, a different contract with a pattern that allows a single segment, untouched by this diff. ⇒ that page is the control that makes the zero a reading. Finding the one true positive of the class and showing it is out of scope is stronger than reporting none.

Bot count on this PR: exact — same rows, order and anchor attributions. (Across five PRs now: one under-report of five pages, four exact. ⇒ ⛔ the direction stays unpredictable and the number stays worth nothing un-re-derived.)

The new out-of-scope reading is correctly classed, and it has a home

⚠️ deployment/cli.mdx's --manifest-id row presents local. + a slug as an unconditional default. After this change a derived id the schema rejects (2024 App → local.2024-app) is refused loudly before any network call, and the row does not say so.

⛔ Not falsified — the row never claimed the fallback always succeeds — so ⛔ correctly not fixed as a rider on a code PR. ⭐ And the successor it names is exact: the next docs pass scoped to that page, which this PR's own drift advisory already lists. That page now has three recorded under-documentation items; they are gathered on #16892, and this one is being added there.

    What carries the acceptance

    • MANIFEST_ID_RE deleted, both paths routed through the imported schema — ⛔ no looser local copy kept "to fail early", which is the cause this card exists to remove.
    • ⭐ The source pin is the load-bearing control: no anchored regex literal in publish.ts may match com.acme.crm, carrying its own positive control that finds both the retired rule as text and a transcription of the schema's pattern. A purely behavioural suite cannot catch a re-transcription; this can.
    • Triage's per-path asymmetry carried into the suite as data, and both ablation legs reproduce it — the derive leg reddens the five loosely-admitted shapes while crm stays green.
    • ⭐ One test staying green under the explicit leg was explained, not papered over: it asserts the text, and under that mutation nothing is printed at all; its sibling is one of the nine reds.
    • The producer half answered by refusing, not normalising — because manifestId is immutable once set, so minting a different permanent identifier is worse than saying what is wrong. That is also what keeps Clause-②: no true: nothing previously rejected became valid.
    • check:type-check-debt reported NOT MEASURED, not as a pass — the gate correctly refuses to record 0 when its re-measure cannot complete.

Arming auto-merge. ⛔ This seat does not merge and does not bypass the queue.
