Access pillar: the "Permission matrix" band retires into a permission-set header; Objects / System capabilities / Row-level security / Tab visibility / Delegated admin become tabs; the object matrix gets OWD chips, 18 px checkboxes and hover-only bulk actions #12456
Epic #12446, decisions 1 and 3, open decision C. Measured on objectui main a2225f91 at /studio/app.objectstack.hotcrm/access?surface=permission:guest_portal: a full-width band "Permission matrix · Objects × CRUD · field-level R/W … Explain access … This package's objects · read-only"; a rail with "Record sharing (OWD)" and the permission sets; a content column that opens with a breadcrumb ("Permission Set › guest_portal"), a row of badges (SECURITY, read-only, Permission set, OBJECTS GRANTED 1, FIELD OVERRIDES 0, History), a collapsible set header, then one scrolling page: System Capabilities, the object matrix (legend, "Only granted", 15 rows with an OWD line and a RCRUDAllNone bulk strip on every row), Row-Level Security, Tab Visibility, Delegated Admin Scope.
Target
Rail (shared rail card): a pinned "Record sharing (OWD)" row above a rule, then the "Permission sets" heading with count and add, search, and rows with a shield glyph, the label and the api name in a second 10 px mono line (36 px rows for this rail, the one exception the shared rail allows).
Item header row: a shield tile, the set label at 18 px / 600, the api name mono chip, a "Package" chip for packaged sets, "N objects granted · M field overrides" at 12 px muted; at the right "Explain access" and "History" as outline chips, a more button. The band, the breadcrumb and the badge row retire; "Explain access" keeps opening the existing panel.
Tab row (decision C, answered 2026-10-15: as designed): Objects, System capabilities, Row-level security, Tab visibility, Delegated admin. Each today's section becomes a tab body; the Objects tab is the landing.
Objects tab: a toolbar with "N objects", the "Only granted" switch, and the legend at the right (C Create · R Read · U Edit · D Delete · Tr Transfer · VA View all · MA Modify all, bold keys); a flush table with a sidebar-tinted header (Object, OWD, C R U D | Tr VA MA, a blank bulk column), 40 px rows: the object label with its api name in mono, the OWD as a tinted chip (Private muted, Public read green, By parent blue), 18 px checkboxes with a 4 px radius (checked = primary fill with a white check), vertical dividers between the CRUD and the sharing groups, and the bulk strip (R · CRUD · All · None) rendered only on the hovered or focused row. The matrix's write semantics and the read-only posture are unchanged.
Inspector: none by default on this pillar; the aside slot stays available for a future field-level editor.
With guest_portal open the header reads the label, guest_portal, Package, "1 object granted · 0 field overrides"; the band is gone.
Five tabs; Objects is the landing; the other four show their existing content.
On the Objects tab only the hovered row shows the bulk strip; keyboard focus on a row's first checkbox shows it too.
StudioDesignSurface.accessGuard, accessRailLabels-11862, PackageOwdOverviewPanel.* and the access explain tests stay green or are updated in the same PR, each ablated once.
Before/after screenshots at 1280 px, light and dark.
Constraints
Tailwind utilities and theme tokens only; no inline style.
Lands after the shared rail and inspector cards (the Blocked-by lines below).
Reference artboard
docs/design/studio-redesign/access.html on objectui main (landed in #12458); access.png is its 1280 px render. The folder's README carries the shared numbers and what a pull request against this card must show: two screenshots per artboard it touches (light and dark, 1280 px, cropped to the artboard's region), a deviation list with a reason per line, and the card's named tests green or updated. Where this card and the artboard disagree, this card's numbers win and the disagreement is reported here.
Body refreshed 2026-10-15T09:53Z by the epic PM session: a Reference artboard section added now that #12458 is on main. Earlier refresh 2026-10-15T09:13Z: decision C answered; the earlier refresh of 2026-10-15T08:56Z pointed the Blocked-by line at #12459.
Decision C is the third clause: the Access content column becomes five tabs (Objects as the landing, System capabilities, Row-level security, Tab visibility, Delegated admin), not one scrolling page with anchors. The Target section's item 3 stands as written; its "if the maintainer keeps the single page" branch is void. The full record, with the premise to re-check (the five sections still render as one stacked column), is on the epic #12446. This card stays blocked on #12459 (#12460, enqueued).
Written 2026-10-15T09:12Z by the epic PM session session_cdb7a717-def7-4e71-9988-f089fbaa18ff.
Unlock read 2026-10-15T09:52Z: #12459 landed in #12460 (main cf430cd10e), so the Blocked-by line that names it is satisfied. The reference artboards are on main under docs/design/studio-redesign/ (#12458) and the body now carries a Reference artboard section naming this card's.
Claimable by the domain:ui lane inside the epic's reservation, as #12450, #12452 and #12454 were claimed by seat domain:ui#4 at 09:35Z; acceptance against the artboard stays with the epic PM.
