Knowledge Base (/crm_knowledge_article, grouped by Category): the Status column is narrow enough that the chip reads "Publish…" (Published) and "Draft" fits; the Actions column at the right is an empty header.
Setup › Approvals Inbox: the table's columns Request / Record / Requester / Status / Submitted / … overflow the panel; "Submitted" is cut to "Submitt…" and the dates to "7/27/2…", with no scrollbar or shadow to say the table continues.

Target

A chip cell never ellipsizes a single-word value: the column's minimum width is the widest chip of the visible rows, measured once per data load; where the grid must shrink, text columns give way before chip columns.
A table wider than its container shows a right-edge shadow and a scrollbar on hover; the last column (Actions) stays pinned.
The Actions column is not drawn when no row action is offered.
