finding(plugin-grid): the relational copy-set derivation cannot judge a COPY — its read set is a union over three consumers, two of which are never fed that bag #7187
Provenance: measured while implementing objectui#7166 (PR objectui#7186), by the ablation that card asked for. Filed unassigned. Named as out-of-scope by objectui#7166's own "What is NOT measured" and by its dispatch, so it is filed rather than ridden.
What is measured
relationalMetaCopySet.derivation.test.ts re-extracts a read set from three consumer sources and requires RELATIONAL_META_READ_SET to match it exactly, in both directions. The three consumers are:
index.tsx#LookupCellRenderer — the read-only cell, and the ONLY one fed the copied bag.
widgets/LookupField.tsx — an inline EDITOR widget.
widgets/UserField.tsx — an inline EDITOR widget.
The extracted set is the union of all three. But applyRelationalMeta writes onto the fieldMeta that goes to CellRenderer and nowhere else, while ObjectGrid.renderCellEditor feeds the two editor widgets from the object schema directly, spreading the whole def ({ name: ctx.column.accessorKey, ...fieldDef }).
⇒ Membership in that read set means "some consumer reads this key". It never means "this bag is how that consumer gets it". A copy-set entry asserts the second. The gate is a correct instrument for the first claim and is being read as evidence for the second.
Why this is not theoretical — it has already shipped a wrong verdict twice
objectui#6875 classified descriptionField and lookupColumns as "read, never copied" from this derivation alone and added them to the copy set. Both were inert on that bag: their only reader is LookupField, which was already receiving them off the schema spread. Its third key, displayField, is genuinely delivered — and it is the one that arrived with a rendering test. objectui#7166 measured that and PR objectui#7186 retires the three modern spellings.
The ablation that pins the gap
From PR objectui#7186, mutation proven on disk by marker count and blob hash, restore proven by state:
Re-adding lookupFilters to the copy set (verdict deferred back to spec) produces Tests 8 failed | 19 passed across the four relational suites — and the only failure inside the derivation gate is a hand-written pin. Every DERIVED assertion in that file stayed green: no unclassified key, no orphan, spec proofs intact, copy-set-equals-copied-verdicts intact.
⇒ The gate would not go red if all three retired keys were put back tomorrow. What guards the retirement today is a hand-written non-membership assertion plus the rendering test relationalMetaCopySet-7166.test.tsx — not the derivation.
What a fix would have to decide
Re-scoping the derivation around the cell alone, with the editor widgets classified separately, is a design change to objectui#6875's mechanism, which is why objectui#7166 explicitly declined to make it. The open questions:
Should the extractor produce two sets — a cell read set (which alone licenses a copy) and an editor read set (which licenses nothing, and exists to keep a key classified and watched)?
Does the deferred verdict survive that split, or does it become the editor set's natural home? Seven keys currently carry it, all spec-declared: multiple, allowCreate, lookupPageSize, dependsOn (objectui#7154) and descriptionField, lookupColumns, lookupFilters (objectui#7166).
UserField is swept although it forwards its whole meta into LookupField; under a split that subset relationship needs restating rather than dropping, since a key it read and did not forward is exactly the false zero the sweep exists to catch.
⚠️ Not measured here: whether any host DataSource outside these two repos feeds fieldMeta to something else. Every sweep behind this bounds packages/ and apps/ in this repo.
Triage — graded tooling·pm:queue·priority:p2; lane domain:ui CONFIRMED. Verified on origin/mainccb3ad78a62b, read 2026-09-04T00:48Z.
Lane — confirmed by landing point, not by subject
Everything a fix would touch is inside one package:
packages/plugin-grid/src/relationalMetaKeys.ts — where RELATIONAL_META_READ_SET is declared
packages/plugin-grid/src/__tests__/relationalMetaCopySet.derivation.test.ts — the extractor and its two-directional assertion
Those are the only two files in the repo naming RELATIONAL_META_READ_SET. A package's own test suite belongs to that package's lane, ⛔ not devx — devx is .github/, scripts/, the release pipeline. The card's subject is a gate, but the gate lives in the library.
⭐ Worth stating because it cuts the opposite way from #7567, filed two rounds ago and graded domain:devx: there the fix is a repo-level gate under scripts/, so it left the ui lane. Same word — "gate" — opposite lanes, decided only by where the diff lands. The type label carries the other half: both are tooling, because what kind of thing it is and where it lands are separate questions.
Why p2, not p3
This is the one thing that lifts it above a housekeeping card: the gap has already produced two wrong verdicts that shipped.#6875 classified descriptionField and lookupColumns as "read, never copied" from this derivation alone; both were inert on that bag, and undoing them cost #7166 plus a PR. A gate that reads as proof of a claim it cannot support will keep doing that — it is not a hypothetical.
Against that: no user-visible impact, and the retirement is currently held, by a hand-written non-membership pin plus relationalMetaCopySet-7166.test.tsx. So the damage is bounded to future classification work. p2, not p1.
⛔ What I did not verify
The card's central ablation — that re-adding lookupFilters yields Tests 8 failed | 19 passed with the only derivation-gate failure being the hand-written pin — I did not re-run. It is the load-bearing measurement, it is attributed to PR #7186 with mutation proven by marker count and blob hash, and I am confirming a lane, not auditing a result. The implementing seat should re-run it on a current ref before designing against it; a nine-round-old ablation is exactly the kind of reading this seat has watched go stale.
Dispatchable, despite carrying three open questions
The card's "what a fix would have to decide" list (split the extractor into cell/editor sets? does deferred survive? how to restate UserField's forwarding?) is engineering design inside one package, not a contract or product question — so it does not need a maintainer ruling and is ⛔ not needs-user-decision. It goes to the domain:ui seat with those three questions as the brief. The card was right that #7166 should not have decided them in passing; it is wrong to read that as needing an escalation.
⛔ Not scripts/. Triage is explicit that this cuts opposite to #7567: same word "gate", opposite lanes, decided only by where the diff lands. If your fix wants to reach outside this package, ⛔ stop and report — that would mean the lane call was wrong, which is a finding, not a licence.
⚠️ Re-run the load-bearing ablation before you design against it
The card's central measurement — re-adding lookupFilters yields Tests 8 failed | 19 passed, with the only derivation-gate failure being the hand-written pin — is attributed to PR #7186 and is nine rounds old. Triage says plainly it did not re-run it:
The implementing seat should re-run it on a current ref before designing against it; a nine-round-old ablation is exactly the kind of reading this seat has watched go stale.
Adopt that as binding. Re-run it yourself on your base, with the mutation proven on disk before any result is read and the restore proven by state. ⚠️ If the numbers differ from the card's, that is a finding worth reporting, ⛔ not a reason to quietly design against the new ones without saying so.
The three open questions are yours to decide
Triage ruled them engineering design inside one package, ⛔ not a contract or product question, so they do not need a maintainer and this card is ⛔ not needs-user-decision:
split the extractor into cell / editor sets?
does deferred survive?
how to restate UserField's forwarding?
Decide each, and say which and why in the PR. The card was right that #7166 should not have decided them in passing; that is not the same as needing an escalation. ⚠️ If any one of them turns out to move a published surface, that one becomes Clause-②: yes and a stop — report it rather than deciding it.
What is actually at stake, so the shape of the fix is right
⭐ This is not housekeeping. The gap has already produced two wrong verdicts that shipped: #6875 classified descriptionField and lookupColumns as "read, never copied" from this derivation alone; both were inert on that bag, and undoing them cost #7166 plus a PR.
So the fix's job is to make the derivation unable to assert a claim it cannot support — a read set that is a union over three consumers, two of which are never fed that bag, cannot judge a COPY. ⛔ Do not repair this by widening the union, and ⛔ do not raise or relax any gate ceiling to fit.
The retirement is currently held by a hand-written non-membership pin plus relationalMetaCopySet-7166.test.tsx. ⚠️ Whatever you land must keep that hold real: if your change makes the hand-written pin redundant, say so and show it; if it makes it load-bearing in a new way, say that instead.
Verification
The derivation must discriminate: mutate the fact (a key's membership in one consumer's read set), prove the mutation on disk before reading any result, show the gate's verdict move, and prove the restore by state (git diff HEAD empty and on-disk blob equal to the HEAD blob) under trap ... EXIT INT TERM with absolute paths.
Print a lit control in the same query shape for every zero-answering query.
Run vitest from the repo root — the package-scoped form is refused by this repo's guard as a known false-green.
Capture exit codes by redirect-then-read, ⛔ never through a pipe; quote each gate's own verdict line.
Declare every narrowing: what a wider run could have caught, and why the subset still covers it.
Clause-②: no is my expectation — a package-internal read set and its own test move no contract. Determine it from your own diff and state it at line start in both report and PR body.

The derivation collapsed three consumers into a UNION and licensed a copy-set entry by membership in it, though only LookupCellRenderer is handed the bag; measured on this base the cell reads 6 keys, LookupField 25, UserField 11, and 19 of the 25 union members are read by no consumer that is fed the bag. Fixed by recording the reader axis PER CONSUMER on every entry (readers), checking each declared list against that consumer's own source in both directions, and deriving the copy set from CONSUMERS_FED_THIS_BAG alone, with one self-naming exception (copiedWithoutCellReader) confined by the gate to keys FieldSchema does not declare — a strict narrowing, not a widening, and no gate ceiling was touched. The premise itself is now measured rather than asserted: the gate bounds renderCellEditor in ObjectGrid.tsx and requires it to spread the schema def and never name fieldMeta, with three region controls and a lit control for the zero. THE THREE OPEN QUESTIONS, decided and argued in the PR: (1) split — YES, but the split lands in the TABLE (readers), not only in the extractor, because the defect was that only the union crossed into the table; (2) deferred — DOES NOT SURVIVE: it stated a reader-axis fact by hand inside an enum that otherwise records the producer axis, and both halves are now measured (spec-declaredness from FieldSchema, editor-only-ness from the extractor); its seven keys are spec now and stay off the copy set because no fed consumer reads them; handled-elsewhere is kept because it records a decision neither axis can derive; (3) UserField — swept still, with its forwarding restated as a CHECKED RESULT (its extracted set must be a subset of LookupField's, and any key it reads that LookupField does not is named), since dropping it for 'it forwards anyway' is exactly the assumption that hides the false zero. None of the three moves a published surface, so none became a stop. THE HAND-WRITTEN PIN IS NOW REDUNDANT AS A GUARD, shown not claimed: in each of four ablation legs at least one DERIVED assertion went red on its own, so deleting the pin would leave the gate red in all four. It is kept, restated, so a regression is reported by name; relationalMetaCopySet-7166.test.tsx is untouched.",
"tests": "THE LOAD-BEARING ABLATION WAS RE-RUN ON MY OWN BASE (ccb3ad7) BEFORE ANY DESIGN WORK, AND IT REPRODUCES EXACTLY — no finding, the nine-round-old reading is still good. Re-adding lookupFilters to the copy set (deferred back to spec) over the four relationalMetaCopySet* suites: 'Test Files 4 failed (4)' / 'Tests 8 failed | 19 passed (27)' — the card's number to the digit, and the ONLY derivation-gate failure was the hand-written pin ('⛔ objectui#7166 — the three retired keys stay OUT of the copy set, and the derivation cannot enforce that'), with the other nine tests in that file green. Mutation proven on disk before any result was read: anchor count 1 to 0, injected anchor 0 to 1, git hash-object 000988fa to de6af77c against the HEAD blob. Restore proven BY STATE under trap EXIT INT TERM with absolute paths, restoring via git checkout HEAD -- absolute-path: blob back to 000988fa AND git diff HEAD empty. NO REBUILD IS OWED BY ANY LEG and the reason is stated rather than assumed: the repo-root vitest.config.mts aliases @object-ui/fields and @object-ui/plugin-grid to their src directories (lines 417-419) and the mutated module is reached by a relative import (../relationalMetaKeys), so no exports-to-dist resolution is in the path and the silently-green dist failure mode cannot occur. DISCRIMINATION, four legs mutating the FACT not the assertion, each with mutation proven on disk (anchored fixed-string counts plus git hash-object vs the HEAD blob) and each restore proven by state (git diff HEAD empty AND on-disk blob equal to the HEAD blob) under trap EXIT INT TERM with absolute paths; baseline 'Tests 12 passed (12)'. A2 lookupFilters claims copiedWithoutCellReader while spec: '2 failed | 10 passed', derived red on the exit-confinement test. A3 lookupFilters to legacy-alias plus the exit: '3 failed | 9 passed', derived reds on legacy-alias non-authorability and the exit's own spec check. A4 THE FACT — a lookupFilters cast read injected into LookupCellRenderer in packages/fields/src/index.tsx: '3 failed | 9 passed', derived reds on 'no unclassified spelling' for the cell and on the copy-set derivation. A5 the declaration hand-widened to ALL_THREE with no source support: '3 failed | 9 passed', derived reds on 'no orphan' and the copy-set derivation. Final tree after all legs: git diff HEAD --name-only empty. FINAL UNION, re-run after the final commit and quoted at that sha c70a045 (tree clean): pnpm exec vitest run over the four relationalMetaCopySet* suites plus lookupPickerKeys-7154, lookupDisplayFieldSpelling-6875 and scripts/tests/one-authority-per-exported-name-6273 — 'Test Files 7 passed (7)' / 'Tests 47 passed (47)'; the six relational suites were 'Tests 34 passed (34)' on the base and are 36 now, the gate having gone 10 tests to 12, with all five behavioural suites unchanged and green (the copy set is byte-identical). All vitest runs FROM THE REPO ROOT; every heavy run serialized through the shared verify lock, verdicts read from its own VERDICT line (one call returned 99 = NOT MEASURED and was re-run with the same slot, never counted as green). Exit codes captured by redirect-then-read, never through a pipe. GATES: pnpm --filter @object-ui/plugin-grid type-check exit 0 with the script name echoed, and coverage PROVEN not assumed — tsc --listFiles returns 1 hit for each changed file out of 1799 listed, so 'typecheck is clean' is a statement about them; check-changeset-presence exit 0 ('2 source file(s) of 1 released package(s) changed, and this change declares 1 changeset(s) ... Every one of them has an EMPTY frontmatter — declared as releasing nothing, which is the explicit exemption and a complete answer to this gate.'); check-control-bytes exit 0 ('check-control-bytes: OK (scanned 6245 tracked text file(s); skipped 85 binary).') plus a self-scan of the three changed files for raw control bytes, no hits; check-changeset-fixed, check-changeset-no-major ('No changeset declares a major bump.'), check-changeset-overwrite ('No pre-existing changeset was modified or deleted.'), check-lint-coverage ('lint coverage: 46/46 packages linted, 0 with outstanding errors (0 total).') all exit 0. LINT WAS NOT NARROWED: eslint . ran over its own full population, 4273 files by its --format json count, with --no-inline-config (the stricter form); my two files 0 errors, and all 77 error-carrying files are untouched by this diff; with the real config the two files give 0 errors and 3 pre-existing no-explicit-any warnings. This repo's eslint is not type-aware (tseslint.configs.recommended, no project or projectService in eslint.config.js), so this diff cannot move any untouched file's verdict. NARROWINGS DECLARED: (a) test selection — relational suites plus the exported-name authority gate rather than the whole repo run; a wider run could have caught a consumer of RELATIONAL_META_* outside these files, and a repo-wide grep finds none (plugin-dashboard only mentions them in prose and keeps its own independent CELL_RELATIONAL_META_KEYS literal); CI runs the full farm regardless. (b) gate selection — derived by hand from package.json and the workflows, NOT from scripts/pm/dispatch-gates.mjs, which lives only in objectstack and would return a well-formed wrong list for objectui paths; no gate under scripts/ was edited, so no gate's own test suite is owed. CI status at report time: in_progress (report is delivered at draft-PR time, per contract).",

⭐ The copy set is byte-identical — computed, not adopted
This is the load-bearing fact for Clause-②: no, and the PR asserts it as "the same seven keys, in the same order." I did not take that on the report's word, because the diff creates a specific way for it to be false.
Both verdict sets resolve identically — COPIED_VERDICTS (before) and PRODUCER_LICENSED_VERDICTS (after) are both {spec, adapter-stamped, legacy-alias}; only the name changed. ⇒ The entire before/after difference is carried by the new reader half, which is what "strict narrowing" has to mean here.
Evaluating both filters against the parsed table:
BEFORE (7): reference reference_to displayField display_field description_field lookup_filters id_field
AFTER (7): reference reference_to displayField display_field description_field lookup_filters id_field
identical, same order: true
⚠️ The risk I checked for, and why the untouched pin does not cover it
Retiring deferred moved seven keys into spec — and spec is producer-licensed. So each of those seven becomes a copy-set candidate that was not one before, and only the reader half keeps it out. If that half were wrong, the copy set would grow, changing runtime behaviour.
relationalMetaCopySet-7166.test.tsx is untouched by this diff and pins part of it — descriptionField, lookupColumns, lookupFilters absent, displayField and the three snake_case aliases present, with length > 5 as its own control. ⭐ But its cardinality assertion is a floor, not an equality, so it cannot see a key being added, and it says nothing about the other four ex-deferred keys. The exhaustive equality lives in the derivation test — which this diff edits, so it cannot self-certify.

CONSUMERS_FED_THIS_BAG is ['cell'], and readByAFedConsumer tests membership in it. None of the seven lists cell. ⇒ All seven are held out by the reader axis, including the four the untouched pin is blind to. The risk was real in principle and is correctly handled in fact.
The copiedWithoutCellReader exception resolves to exactly three keys — description_field, lookup_filters, id_field — the snake_case legacy aliases, as described, and no others.
The card's own conditions, answered
The nine-round-old ablation was re-run before design work and reproduces to the digit: Tests 8 failed | 19 passed (27), with the only derivation-gate failure being the hand-written pin. The right outcome of a re-measurement that confirms is to say so and move on, which it did — ⛔ not to treat the absence of a finding as a finding.
The union was narrowed, not widened — the thing I fenced against. PRODUCER_LICENSED ∧ (fed-consumer read ∨ self-named exception) is strictly stronger than COPIED_VERDICTS alone, and the exception is confined by the gate to keys FieldSchema does not declare, so no authorable key can take that exit.
The pin's redundancy is shown, not claimed: in each of four ablation legs at least one derived assertion went red on its own, so deleting the named-key pin would leave the gate red in all four. It is kept and restated so a regression is reported by name rather than only as an equality mismatch.
⭐ One design choice worth naming: the copy-set assertion is derived from the extracted cell set rather than from the table's declared readers, so RELATIONAL_META_KEYS and the gate's expectation reach the same list by two independent routes. That is why leg A5 — hand-widening readers with no source support — turns it red. A gate that can be satisfied by editing its own input is not a gate, and this one cannot be.
Still owed before landing
CI green on the current head, and the draft flip — which is currently refused: update_pull_request returns API rate limit already exceeded while REST reads and comment writes continue, so the exhausted pool is the GraphQL one. A check-in at 02:48Z carries both.
ACCEPT — PR #7584, head c70a04570. Flipping ready and arming for the queue.
Entry qualification: 32 checks, 32 accounted for against total_count: 32. 29 success, 3 skipped, zero failures, zero cancelled, zero still running. The four test shards and Type Check completed between 02:20 and 02:28.
Content verification is the comment above (5534747206) and stands unchanged — CI was the only thing outstanding. The short form:
Fence held: the two fenced files plus a changeset, nothing else; relationalMetaKeys absent from the package entry (0 hits, control ObjectGrid = 21).
Clause-②: no computed, not adopted: both filters evaluated against the parsed table give the identical seven-key set in the identical order. The verdict sets are the same set under a new name, so the whole before/after difference is carried by the new reader half — which is what "strict narrowing" has to mean.
The risk that mattered was checked: retiring deferred moved seven keys into producer-licensed spec, and the untouched 7166 pin covers only three of them with a cardinality floor, so it could not have seen an addition. Measured per key — none of the seven lists cell in its readers, none claims the exception. Held out by the reader axis, including the four nothing else was watching.
The nine-round-old ablation was re-run first and reproduced to the digit, and the honest report of a confirming re-measurement is to say so rather than to manufacture a finding from it.
The union was narrowed, not widened — the thing I fenced against — and the exception is confined by the gate to keys FieldSchema does not declare, so no authorable key can take it.
The pin's redundancy is shown: in all four ablation legs a derived assertion went red on its own.
⭐ The design point worth carrying beyond this card: the copy-set assertion is derived from the extracted cell set, not from the table's declared readers, so the two reach the same list by independent routes. A gate that can be satisfied by editing its own input is not a gate — this one is now measurably not that, which is what leg A5 demonstrates.
One cost worth recording rather than burying: the readers column adds ~0.24 KB gzipped to plugin-grid, and CI's own budget line moved 3182.4 → 3182.7 KB against a 3191.4 KB ceiling. It passes, and the headroom question is #7479's, not this card's — but that is roughly 3% of the remaining margin spent on a declarative table in shipped source, and the next several such tables will not all be free.

descriptionFieldandlookupColumnsas "read, never copied" from this derivation alone; both were inert on that bag, and undoing them cost #7166 plus a PR.So the fix's job is to make the derivation unable to assert a claim it cannot support — a read set that is a union over three consumers, two of which are never fed that bag, cannot judge a COPY. ⛔ Do not repair this by widening the union, and ⛔ do not raise or relax any gate ceiling to fit.
The retirement is currently held by a hand-written non-membership pin plus⚠️ Whatever you land must keep that hold real: if your change makes the hand-written pin redundant, say so and show it; if it makes it load-bearing in a new way, say that instead.

"summary": "Clause-②: no — the diff is two files in packages/plugin-grid/src plus one changeset; relationalMetaKeys.ts is not re-exported from the package entry src/index.tsx (0 hits, lit control ObjectGrid returns 5), so nothing it declares is in dist/index.d.ts, and the copy set is byte-identical (same seven keys, same order).
Every one of them has an EMPTY frontmatter — declared as releasing nothing, which is the explicit exemption and a complete answer to this gate.'); check-control-bytes exit 0 ('check-control-bytes: OK (scanned 6245 tracked text file(s); skipped 85 binary).') plus a self-scan of the three changed files for raw control bytes, no hits; check-changeset-fixed, check-changeset-no-major ('No changeset declares a
majorbump.'), check-changeset-overwrite ('No pre-existing changeset was modified or deleted.'), check-lint-coverage ('lint coverage: 46/46 packages linted, 0 with outstanding errors (0 total).') all exit 0. CI status at report time: in_progress (report is delivered at draft-PR time, per contract).","mcp_calls": "6 — issue_read get, issue_read get_comments, create_pull_request, pull_request_read get (body read-back), add_issue_comment, issue_read get_comments (comment read-back)",

c70a04570. CI at time of writing: 32 checks, 24 success · 3 skipped · 5 still running (four test shards + Type Check), zero failures. Not yet qualified, so this is not an acceptance — it records the verification so it is not re-derived.Diff shape — the fence held

This is the load-bearing fact for
Clause-②: no, and the PR asserts it as "the same seven keys, in the same order." I did not take that on the report's word, because the diff creates a specific way for it to be false. Both verdict sets resolve identically —
COPIED_VERDICTS(before) andPRODUCER_LICENSED_VERDICTS(after) are both{spec, adapter-stamped, legacy-alias}; only the name changed. ⇒ The entire before/after difference is carried by the new reader half, which is what "strict narrowing" has to mean here.Evaluating both filters against the parsed table:
Retiring
deferredmoved seven keys intospec— andspecis producer-licensed. So each of those seven becomes a copy-set candidate that was not one before, and only the reader half keeps it out. If that half were wrong, the copy set would grow, changing runtime behaviour.relationalMetaCopySet-7166.test.tsxis untouched by this diff and pins part of it —descriptionField, lookupColumns, lookupFiltersabsent, displayFieldand the three snake_case aliases present, withlength > 5as its own control. ⭐ But its cardinality assertion is a floor, not an equality, so it cannot see a key being added, and it says nothing about the other four ex-deferredkeys. The exhaustive equality lives in the derivation test — which this diff edits, so it cannot self-certify.Measured per key on the head commit:
descriptionFieldLOOKUP_EDITOR_ONLYlookupColumnsLOOKUP_EDITOR_ONLYlookupFiltersBOTH_EDITORSmultipleLOOKUP_EDITOR_ONLYallowCreateLOOKUP_EDITOR_ONLYlookupPageSizeLOOKUP_EDITOR_ONLYdependsOnLOOKUP_EDITOR_ONLYCONSUMERS_FED_THIS_BAGis['cell'], andreadByAFedConsumertests membership in it. None of the seven listscell. ⇒ All seven are held out by the reader axis, including the four the untouched pin is blind to. The risk was real in principle and is correctly handled in fact. The
copiedWithoutCellReaderexception resolves to exactly three keys —description_field,lookup_filters,id_field— the snake_case legacy aliases, as described, and no others. The card's own conditions, answered
Tests 8 failed | 19 passed (27), with the only derivation-gate failure being the hand-written pin. The right outcome of a re-measurement that confirms is to say so and move on, which it did — ⛔ not to treat the absence of a finding as a finding.PRODUCER_LICENSED ∧ (fed-consumer read ∨ self-named exception)is strictly stronger thanCOPIED_VERDICTSalone, and the exception is confined by the gate to keysFieldSchemadoes not declare, so no authorable key can take that exit.⭐ One design choice worth naming: the copy-set assertion is derived from the extracted cell set rather than from the table's declared
readers, soRELATIONAL_META_KEYSand the gate's expectation reach the same list by two independent routes. That is why leg A5 — hand-wideningreaderswith no source support — turns it red. A gate that can be satisfied by editing its own input is not a gate, and this one cannot be.Still owed before landing
CI green on the current head, and the draft flip — which is currently refused:

ACCEPT — PR #7584, head
c70a04570. Flipping ready and arming for the queue.Entry qualification: 32 checks, 32 accounted for against
total_count: 32. 29 success, 3 skipped, zero failures, zero cancelled, zero still running. The four test shards and Type Check completed between 02:20 and 02:28.Content verification is the comment above (
5534747206) and stands unchanged — CI was the only thing outstanding. The short form:relationalMetaKeysabsent from the package entry (0 hits, controlObjectGrid= 21).Clause-②: nocomputed, not adopted: both filters evaluated against the parsed table give the identical seven-key set in the identical order. The verdict sets are the same set under a new name, so the whole before/after difference is carried by the new reader half — which is what "strict narrowing" has to mean.deferredmoved seven keys into producer-licensedspec, and the untouched7166pin covers only three of them with a cardinality floor, so it could not have seen an addition. Measured per key — none of the seven listscellin itsreaders, none claims the exception. Held out by the reader axis, including the four nothing else was watching.FieldSchemadoes not declare, so no authorable key can take it.⭐ The design point worth carrying beyond this card: the copy-set assertion is derived from the extracted cell set, not from the table's declared
readers, so the two reach the same list by independent routes. A gate that can be satisfied by editing its own input is not a gate — this one is now measurably not that, which is what leg A5 demonstrates. One cost worth recording rather than burying: the
readerscolumn adds ~0.24 KB gzipped toplugin-grid, and CI's own budget line moved 3182.4 → 3182.7 KB against a 3191.4 KB ceiling. It passes, and the headroom question is #7479's, not this card's — but that is roughly 3% of the remaining margin spent on a declarative table in shipped source, and the next several such tables will not all be free.Generated by Claude Code
