finding(process): the harness attribution template and the os-dev dispatch ban on model identifiers contradict each other in every commit message #8471
Filed under the shift rule that a seat which hits two conflicting instructions acts on the stricter one and files a card rather than picking a side silently. This is the card; the conflict was acted on, not resolved.
The two instructions
The harness attribution template injected into every Claude Code session in this container ends git commit messages with a Co-Authored-By trailer whose display name is a model identifier (the model name and version, spelled out), followed by a Claude-Session line.
The os-dev dispatch contract carries, verbatim: never put a model identifier in any pushed artifact.
A commit message is a pushed artifact. So on every single commit an os-dev seat makes, following instruction 1 literally violates instruction 2, and there is no wording that satisfies both.
What this seat did
Acted on the stricter one — instruction 2 — by keeping the trailer's shape and the session line while writing the co-author display name as the bare product name with no version or model designation. Both trailers are present, attribution is preserved, and no model identifier reaches the tree.
Commit 8e75df1cd on branch claude/issue-8337-mts-lint-coverage (PR #8467) is the worked example; every objectui os-dev commit under this dispatch contract has the same shape.
Why it is worth a card rather than a per-seat judgement call
⚠️ The conflict is structural and unavoidable, not situational: it fires on every commit of every dispatch, so every seat resolves it independently, and they will not resolve it identically. Some will follow the template verbatim and push a model identifier; some will drop attribution entirely; some will do what this seat did.
⚠️ The resulting main history is then inconsistent in a machine-readable field. Anything that ever groups commits by co-author gets three shapes for one author.
⭐ The failure is silent in the dangerous direction: a seat that follows the template gets no error, and the ban it violated is in a dispatch brief nobody reads afterwards.
Not answered here
Which instruction should give way. Both have owners this seat is not.
Whether the ban is aimed at commit trailers at all, or only at product-visible artifacts such as PR bodies, issue text and shipped docs. If it is the latter, the fix is a sentence in the dispatch contract, not a change to anything in the tree.
Whether the sibling repositories' seats hit the same pair. Not measured here.
⛔ No file in this repository is proposed for change by this card; the operating rules involved are governed-surface text and belong to a maintainer.
Observation-class, unassigned, not claimed. Filed by an agent dev seat while implementing objectui#8337; the session reference is session_01FhBNJcLRZLe8M87VcUgpKr, and this attribution is written as prose deliberately.
Measured evidence for this finding, from main rather than from reasoning.domain:devx @ objectui execution seat, PM session session_01FhBNJcLRZLe8M87VcUgpKr, R46, 2026-09-08T01:50Z.
This card was filed as a conflict between two instruction sources. It is no longer hypothetical — the identifier is at main now. PR #8461 merged at 01:26:49Z as c90395b20, and its squashed message ends:
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01FhBNJcLRZLe8M87VcUgpKr
---------
Co-authored-by: claude[bot] <209825114+claude[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
⇒ A model identifier is in main's permanent history, twice in one commit, in a machine-readable trailer field.
⭐ And this card's own prediction is confirmed inside a single shift. Two os-dev seats dispatched by the same PM session an hour apart resolved the same conflict two different ways: #8461's seat followed the attribution template (the trailer above), #8467's seat acted on the stricter dispatch ban and omitted the model designation, then filed this card rather than choosing silently. main therefore already carries both shapes. That is exactly the "seats will resolve it differently and main ends up with three shapes in one machine-readable field" cost this card names, and it is now observed rather than forecast.
⚠️Correction owed by this seat, recorded here because it is why the conflict was allowed to run. This seat's own seat-post has stated all shift that "squash normalises trailers to plain Co-authored-by: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> with no model identifier — so the dispatch fence and the mandated trailer never collide at main." The commit above falsifies that. The belief was carried forward without being re-taken, and it is the reason this seat treated the conflict as theoretical instead of routing it earlier. ⇒ The dispatch briefs' ⛔ ban was not redundant; it was the only thing standing between the two sources, and it held in exactly one of two seats.
⛔ This seat does not resolve it. The durable fix is dispatch-contract text (.claude/skills/**), which is governed surface — ⛔ not this lane's to edit, and ⛔ not a question this seat answers on the maintainer's behalf. Recording the measurement is what this seat can do.
⚠️ Note for whoever grades this: history at main is not rewritable here, so option A ("omit the trailer going forward") does not clean up what has already landed, and any option that leaves both shapes in place should say so explicitly rather than imply a uniform field.
Commit message: an agent commit ends with the model-free trailer pair … Co-authored-by: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>; no model identifier lands in a PR title or body, a comment, a changeset, a doc or a code comment — the harness-written Co-Authored-By trailer (with its session link) is the one exemption.

domain:skills·pm:queue·priority:p2· type Task)。
AGENTS.md、.claude/skills/pm-dispatch/references/dispatch-runbook.md、.claude/agents/os-dev.md(本席确认 objectui 树下没有os-dev定义,也没有.claude/agents/目录)。
AGENTS.md那句之后,这个框架低估了它:同一句话给出两个读法:读法 A(明写 model-free 并把字节拼出来)⇒ 写无模型名的形式;读法 B(豁免 harness 写的那条尾注,而它带模型名)⇒ 保留 harness 的原样。
AGENTS.md是受治理面。
