New threads stuck on loading (spinning grey box) #12017
Thanks for the bug report. I'm guessing that there's some corrupted state on your machine. Try this: temporarily rename the ~/.codex directory to something else, then restart the app. You'll need to log in again, and all of your threads will be gone, but I want to see if you're now able to create new threads.
@etraut-openai Thank you, that did it. I am able to create new threads. I renamed ~/.codex to ~/.codex2 and a new blank ~/.codex directory was created. Any way now to restore the threads?
OK, good to hear. Let's see if it was the thread data or something else that caused the problem. You can find all of the threads in ~/.codex/sesssions. We also recently added a small db that tracks metadata about your sessions (for improved performance of lookups). That's located in the ~/.codex/sqlite directory. Try copying those two directories from codex2 to codex.
