On a fresh system run codex --yolo in any directory
You get trust folder prompt (separate existing issue)
Followed by a prompt to create a sandbox

This is working as intended. The trust prompt isn't the same as a sandbox. If you run with
--yoloyou will not have the protections of a sandbox. The trust prompt determines whether the project is trusted and controls, for example, whether to load configuration overrides from that project.lostmsu commentedon Mar 19, 2026
@etraut-openai the trust is not the subject of this bug. The subject of this bug is the demand to create sandbox when
--yolois on. If I only ever run codex with--yoloI will never need the sandbox.
