    With the same system and configuration, CodeX app often lags after running normally for a while, but it works fine when the CodeX app is closed.

    @IgorGanapolsky

    Intel Core i9 + Codex app error usually surfaces from one of two root causes:

    1. arm64-only bundled binary: SkyComputerUseClient may not include an x86_64 slice, so it can't load on Intel even though everything else "looks" installed.

      file /Applications/Codex.app/Contents/Resources/plugins/openai-bundled/computer-use/*/SkyComputerUseClient

      If file doesn't show x86_64, that's the cause.

    2. macOS-version gate: bundled client built with minos 15.0 won't load on older macOS even on Intel.

      /usr/bin/otool -l /Applications/Codex.app/Contents/Resources/plugins/openai-bundled/computer-use/*/SkyComputerUseClient \
        | grep -A3 LC_BUILD_VERSION

    If you can share the actual error text (or run log show --predicate 'process == "Codex"' --last 5m), it usually disambiguates between these two and a third less-common cause (bundle-ID / codesign mismatch).

    Free script in the repo (scripts/self-diagnose.mjs) bundles all six diagnostic surfaces with secret redaction. $19 quick read on that page names the root cause from your bundle.
