Attach existing remote Codex CLI sessions to Codex App projects #21886

Open

Description

@LudensZhang

What variant of Codex are you using?

App

What feature would you like to see?

It would be extremely useful if Codex App supported importing or rebinding existing remote CLI sessions into a current project/workspace.

Right now, Codex App creates a new thread/session when connecting to a remote project, even if there are already existing Codex CLI sessions associated with the same remote workspace.

There appears to be no officially supported way to:

  • attach an existing rollout session to a project
  • migrate remote CLI sessions into Codex App
  • rebind a project to another session ID
  • import historical sessions into the App UI

    yes please! i see my threads in /resume in cli but dont see the threads in codex app and it would be really useful to automatically have them opened in codex app even to they were started in cli

    They will show up on the app if you add the project (the cwd) in the app.
